According to nearly all polls that exist on the topic, polling both hardcore gamers and the general public as well as software developers, the Nintendo Wii is the most eagerly anticipated console of this generation. Nintendo has also promised in years past that the day they stop making consoles is the day they stop making video games completely. Nintendo also makes considerably more money on video games than Microsoft or Sony, despite fewer consoles sold in the past two generations. You don't stop what your'e doing when what you're doing makes you incredibly rich. Even if Nintendo were to screw up completely with one of their future consoles and lose money, they are sitting on absurdly huge stacks of reserve cash saved up over many decades for just such an event. There is very little in common between Nintendo's present position and Sega's a few years ago. Nintendo will not be going away or becoming a third-party developer anytime even within the next decade.
