Dirty expensive, at that time. IIRC, one cartridge cost about 600 markka, which is around 75-85 euros by today's standards. Shipping, taxes, and a relatively small customer-base probably explain why it was so expensive here, in Scandinavia. Of course, NES was then something new too, so I wouldn't wonder if the merchants just wanted to rip off their customers at the expense of this "Mario Hype."  |
