I have the limited edition of Alien that is 142 minutes, the normal versions are a bit shorter at around 112 minutes. The other 3 rare limited edition VHS tapes I have are Sixth Sense, Unbreakable & The Best of U2 1980 - 1990 are also limited editions that came in nice cardboard cases instead of the usual see through plastic cases.

Well, if a series of recorded tapes from the 1987 World Series (complete with commercials and pregame/postgame shows from local station KSTP) counts...
All of this Political Correctness junk is going to turn me into a modern day Archie Bunker before I turn 30.

Those that you mention are not exactly rare. Usually "limited edition" tapes are seen in large numbers unless signed by a cast, crew, or band member. A 142 minute version of Alien does not exist unless your copy is a bootleg. There is a 117 minute version and a 116 minute version released in 2003. My copy of this film is from 1984 CBS/Fox Video and in 117 minutes.

Maybe he means "Aliens" and not "Alien". In the 80s there was a home video release of Aliens that had damn near a half hour cut out of it. Later on they re-released it as a special edition with the original footage restored.
Right, anyway, I have a copy of Scruffy on VHS. Does that count as rare?
Also, I used to have a copy of Boondock Saints before it hit big and had a DVD release. This is when one of the tapes from Blockbuster was a hundred bucks. I found mine at a mom-and-pop video store for 10 bucks.

The special edition came out in 1992 I think. I own the 1987 CBS/Fox version and that is 137 minutes. I think the 1992 version is around 155 minutes. T2 did a similar thing, but the difference between 1992 video release and 1993 special edition laserdisc. The only other Cameron film to get a special edition was The Abyss, but I am not as familiar with releases as I am with the other two mentioned.

Um, I have a Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics tape with The Little Mermaid and King Grizzle Beard on it. I also have the promotional tape sent out around '96 for Pokemon. It introduces the characters, the manga, the games, the toys, the cards, and of course, the show. It's a pretty cool tape. I also have the PJ Sparkles cartoon that came with the doll on VHS. It still works.

Hi, I have the pilot episode of Father Dowling Mysteries "Fatal Confessions" which I managed to pick up back last year. This was very hard to track down on VHS, both in the UK and USA I looked.

I used to own a couple of Filmation's Ghostbusters tapes If thoes count as rare. I recently threw them out, which isn't a big loss on account of they were BAD! The theme song was catchy though.

I've got Rainbow Brite and the San Diego Zoo Adventure. It's the only live action Rainbow Brite movie ever made. I used to watch it ridiculously when I was a kid, and I went on a search for it. I had been looking for a good couple of years and I finally found it on ebay.
