yesterday I scored some awesome stuff at the goodwill and an auction house. first off I got (from goodwill) on VHS , Darkwing duck(his favorite adventures, episode Darkly dawns the duck), Teddy ruxpin :in guests of the grunges, and Denver the last dinosaur in Dino-star, a Peter Frampton 8-track(title I'm in you), a 1968 paperback copy of "the story of winnie the pooh and tigger"(with the original price sticker still firmly attached), a McDonnalds toy of buzz lightyear with pop-up wing action, a vintage vynil sprout figure(the jolly green giants kid/cohorde, or whatever), a koosh ball of bugs bunny, an awesome batman actionfigure from 1994, a really cool robot toy called "strobot" for, and a nickelodeon's figure it out the board game(its missing several pieces but its still a nice piece of nostalgia), and an alvin and the chipmunks puzzle(complete), and lastly, From the auction house: a vintage desk? lamp of bugs bunny sunbathing in immaculate condition. , and today I got a, marvel famous cover series action figure of mister sinister(complete with box), an electronic domino dealer toy by pressman toys(with box), two taped off TV tapes with the following on them(crocodile dundee, summer stock, and, shakedown on the strip, TAPE 2:GI jive, Benny Goodman, and Harry James), and lastly A Beavis and butthead CD rom(virtual stupidity).
cool, death by stereo! :The lost boys

shortly before term ended last month, my college had a charity thrift sale in aid of Cancer Research UK. I bagged myself the folowing videos:

Pete's Dragon (revision of the film on VHS may be from the 70s or 80s)
The Pink Panther (live action movie, original version)
The Pink Panther Strikes Again and Revenge Of The Pink Panther (2 films on 1 cassette)

A 2002 Rolling Stones tour crew shirt
and Clint Eastwood's Sudden Impact on VHS, for my money one of the greatest ever action movies.

I've found a few treasures that I've sold on eBay, but have kept a few things for myself. The last great thing I picked up was a Logitech wireless keyboard for $6. It was working out of the box with the original batteries still in it! I also found a GI Joe vehicle WITH the original box! It was orange and had two motors on the back with Beech Head on the front. A few missles were missing, but it was still great to find it in the box.

I also found two original Football II handheld games (not at the same time), two old ARP synthesizers, Blip (someone else had found that also), Digital Derby (another handheld game from the late 70's, as this was my first game like that), a doddle toy that used a joystick attached to the toy, Electronic Games magazines from 1983 for $1 (I sold one on eBay for $40) and more that I can't think of.

I'm good at finding old electronics as well. I've bought a lot of Macintosh computers, but my fave was finding Mac OS X server for $5. This was high end server software costing hundreds of dollars. I even asked the people if it was mispriced and should have been $15 or $50, but they said it was $5. I ended up selling it on eBay and it went for $75.

dude, thrift shops spell bad news for me. im such a pack rat, and a poor one at that... not a good combo...

ive found many good things at thrift shops, but they all escape me for some reason, so here are some VHSs ive found at various Albertson's... because they were updating thier rental section to dvds...

The most I've been able to find are a talking Pee Wee Herman doll, although he didn't talk so that killed it for me. Plus, a bunch of old X-Men, Spiderman, Batman comic books.

This thread inspired me to go to my local thrift store today and it ended up being quite interesting.

                                    - A first gen Sega Genesis with 2 controllers for $4
                                    - A Bentley CompuVision system still in the box for $2
                                    - A collection of 4 Genesis games for $8 ($2 each which I thought was kind of high but I'm not very good at negotiations)

Edit - don't have the VHF connection on my TV to play the CompuVision *sob* and can't get the Genesis to work..the RF adapter is plugged in, the power supply is plugged in, I turn it on and the power light comes on but the screen is static..am I doing something wrong or is it just a bust?

And does anyone know anything about the CompuVision? :S

                                      3 copies of Pogo Volumes
                                      A Dennis the menace volume
                                      thats about it.

but I do buy from goodwill alot nowadays.

did you forget to set the channel 3/4 switch on the back of the console, then tune your TV to that channel?
