Back when our computer actually played it properly, I was addicted to Theme Park. I loved creating new and new theme parks, naming every ride and, of course, creating the roller coasters. Share some Theme Park memories here.

Me and my mate once created this theme park (called Anti Plague, from the bottle of a mouthwash) and named every entertainer a particular name that he and his friend had worked out. We also did a particularly violent rollercoaster named "Hell" or something of the sorts. Anyway, it took up more than half the park and none of the riders made it more than half the way through.

On my own, I loved creating rollercoasters with loop-de-loops and, of course, corkscrews. To create a theme park is curiously fulfilling; particularly when it looks good. But try as I might, I never managed to get my park to look as good as the one in the intro.

We used to play it all the time over at my friend's house. We'd build the little castle bouncey thing a lot as iot made about the msot money. I'd get to build one side and my friend would build the other, loads of fun. Now there's sequels and stuff, but it's nowhere near as addicting

Very true. The only thing I disliked was the bullies (real as that was). At first I didn't know what was going on, so I just kept hearing cries. Then I saw this guy with a mohawk and I thought: "Who is that?". I tried hiring security guards but they just don't kick the bullies out fast enough.

So what I did was place the bullies out on the grass in a corner of the park and build a wall around them. Ha ha!

Ahh... Theme-Park, my first fortay into the world of video-gaming & themeparks.

The progress has improved with Rollercoaster Tycoon 1, 2, & 3... along with the ThemePark sequals "Sim Theme Park" and "Sim Coaster"...

...but it all originated with Theme Park.

I had the 3DO version, which was a little enhanced version that included an on-ride perspective, which was nothing more than a pre-rendered animation of the ride. It didn't include your own custom creation, however. If you had a waterslide or go-kart track, it wasn't your own creation... but I liked the tree-house ride & others they had.

It was crude, but all in all a fun game that kept me entertained for hours & hours. Once the game got filled, and I got bored... I'd put it away for awhile, go back to it & start another new sand-box mode from scratch.

I still do that with Rollercoaster Tycoon 3... but something about Theme-Park felt more special. I guess it was because it felt more like a mini version of a 3D perspective of SimCity (I think that predated SimCity 2000 by a year or so)... despite the lack of details, it was just... fun... in short (6hour) bursts.

I love this game, still have it on disc somewhere. I made my park all corporate where it cost lots to get in, but all the rides were free. The only thing I hated was that when someone died on a ride, you had to get rid of it completely, cause no one would ride it after that.
