    I'm getting a Wii version.

Might as well, since I skipped Gamecube for Wii, and Wii can play GC games, no ?
Yes, it can. It looks like Nintendo has learned from their mistakes and intends to play hardball now.

    Its about damn time! 8)

It's excellent. It's so nice to play Link again in 8-bit, just as God intended.

The keyboard controls are awkward as can be,(for me that is, I will never get used to playing video games with anything other than a controller) but other than that, I'm loving it.

The Legend of Zelda, much like Metroid, was a game ahead of its time. Nothing else available on any prior system could compare to this game even in the most basic sense of play. Whether it was having the ability to save your progress or the plethura of weapons, it was unique. A gamer can not have a true appreciation for this game unless you played it when it came out. The reason being that by today's standards, it is a cakewalk. Cheats, tips and f.a.q. are so readily available which was something we lacked twenty years ago. As good as the original was, it was superceeded by A Link To The Past which still sets the mark high, today.

Okay, if you really want to kill yourselves over Zelda Classic, I recommend downloading the custom quests. I've got the Megaman version and the Metroid version, with the Megaman one being somewhat easier than the Metroid one. Both will have you dying. Alot. In the Megaman version, Megaman's time is the future version of Hyrule, and you have to get the Triforce pieces for Dr. Wily before he drops an asteroid on the planet. In the Metroid one, you face off against the 'roids and the Space Pirates, as well as other bounty hunters.
