I like eb Games. I buy used all the time there. I RARELY shell out for a new game unless it's something I just can't bear to wait for. Buying used, I get way more games for my dollar, which makes me happy. Plus I get a nifty discount thanks to my eb discount card.

It's pretty simple, really. If you've got the cash to throw around, go ahead and buy new. Just don't expect to EVER get back what you paid for it selling it/trading it used. Won't happen. (Unless it happens to be some uber limited edition that collectors are willing to pay through the nose for on ebay, that is) Don't blame eb, it's the way the used market is, period. They gotta make money, they're a business. It's nothing to do with "selling out" or some other such nonsense. Even if the game you're trying to sell is in MINT condition, if it's "used" it's devalued. As soon as it has that "used" label there's no way you'll ever get full value back for it, no matter where you go.

So - If you're on a budget, but still like to actually OWN games instead of rent (like me), buy used. Just double-check that it's complete (manual, case, etc.) before you plunk down your 5-10 bucks. If you're REALLY on a budget, rent.

My two cents, don't let me stand in the way of the debate.
