I kinda got this idea from another forum!

1. What was your first console/system and game?
2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
3. Your Top 5 Favorite Games!
4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one)

Here's what I have to say!
1. What was your first console/system and game?
My first system was a Tv-Fun machine, which was only made for Pong, my first game!

2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
Well, My Grandma bought me a Gameboy on my Birthday and I was pretty much addicted to it, that is until I was given a Nintendo!

3. Your Top 5 Favorite Games!
1. Resident Evil 4
2. Tetris
3. NEW Super Mario Bros.
4. Sonic 3 & Knuckles
5. God Of War

4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
I was playing Mario on my Gameboy and then My sister threw water at me as a joke, It was funny till my gameboy got wet on the inside!

5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one)
I would have to say, when I played and beat Sonic 3 & Knuckles! I beat the game with all emeralds collected with both Sonic & Tails and Knuckles. The Final battles were just so memorable to me!!

1. The first system I ever played on was my dad's Sinclair ZX81 computer. I first played an educational game called (I think) Ator The ABC Gator. The first I ever owned was the NES, with the orange zapper and Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cart.

2. My dad used to be a gamer, long before I was. I would see him playing games on one of his various computers, and it was fascinating to me. Eventually, I was hooked on MS-DOS versions/clones of Frogger, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Phoenix, and Break Out. I was seduced by console gaming when a friend of mine got an NES with Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt.

3. I'm not even going to attempt this one. To narrow it down would take me months of agonizing deliberation.

4. I accidentally erased a MUGEN character/stage collection that represented literally several months of hard searching, conversion, and manual tweaking.

5. One of the most striking memories for me was when it dawned on me how great the Sega Saturn console and games library was. I had a somewhat negative view of Sega consoles after the Genesis, and was mainly in support of Sony and Nintendo, but I eventually got a Saturn ($30, not long after the console was effectively dead), a couple of games, and a mod chip. I was shocked at how much better my new favorite Saturn games were than my favorite PlayStation games, and they continue to be even now that there are so many more games for the PlayStation. That was also the moment I started to see what was wrong with the direction Sony has been leading the games industry in.

1. What was your first console/system and game?
My first console was the Sega Megadrive (or Genesis). But my first game was Super Mario Bros 2 for the NES, I believe. (the family owned our NES. Now I'm the only one who bothers, so I guess I've become the unofficial owner.)

2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
I began by watching others play video games. The worlds just drew me in so much. For me, it was like watching an animated movie. Super Mario Bros. 3 and 2 only grew the bacteria.

3. Your Top 5 Favorite Games!
An absolutely finalistic (and nowhere near accurate) list:
Mega Man X4 (though mine's PC)
Blaster Master
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Mega Man 3
Sonic & Knuckles

4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
Can't remember, thankfully. I'm sure I've been frustrated numerous times, but I can't point my finger to an isolated incident at the moment.

5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one)
The fifth, underwater world in "Blaster Master". Never have I felt so happy and awe-inspired while playing a video game.

1. We had a NES, but never used it. So, it was the SNES, and the first game we had for it was Super Mario World. I was 2 years old.
2. My brother always played it, so I wanted to copy him.
3. Oblivion, KOTOR, Mario 3, GTA San Andreas, Chrono Trigger
4. When I dropped the snes down the stairs.
5.When my brother brought home Donkey Kong Country in 1994.

NES, with Super Mario Bros. 3, Tecmo Super Bowl, and Fester's Quest.
2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
Watching a couple of old friends of mine playing that track game for NES which needed the powerpad, as well as Mario 3.

2. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
3. Final Fantasy 9
4. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
5. If PC games count, Unreal Tournament 99 GotYE
4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
Coming back from going out of town last, I got significantly farther in Final Fantasy Tactics, I copied all my saves back to my external hard drive. Somehow I lost all my progress and had to start back near the end of chapter 1. D:<

2. My brother and dad always playing games.

3. I not putting much thought into this, but:
1. Zelda: OoT
2. Super Mario RPG
3. Banjo-Kazooie
4. Super Mario All-Stars
5. Zelda: MM

4. Being scared at the Bottom of the Well and in the Shadow Temple in OoT.

5. Beating OoT and MM, beating Banjo-Kazooie 100% numerous times. I know BK isn't really that hard to beat 100%, but I'm still proud.

NES w/ SMB1, R.C. Pro-Am, and Iron Tank

2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
My cousins had it and it was fun so I wanted one too.

3. Your Top 5 Favorite Games!
Way too many good games to list and I hate choosing favorites.

4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
Fighting the Forest Temple boss in Ocarina of Time. I never knew I could knock the energy balls back to the boss, so I spent an entire hour jump-slashing him and finally killing him that way. Once I learned how to properly beat him, it wasn't so bad. Nowadays, it's dealing with the Water Temple.

5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one)

1. What was your first console/system and game?
I got an original GameBoy first with Tetris and The Incredible Crash Dummies. My first console was a Sega Genesis II with Sonic 2 and Aladdin.

2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
Not sure. Either GameBoy and NES at day care, the Genesis at my uncle's, or a combination of both.

3. Jedi Outcast
4. ???
5. ???

Not sure what else I'd have fill the last two.

4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
Probably any time I've been enraged so much that it resulted to physical action. Trying to get the Sun Sigil in FFX is near the top.

5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one)
Hard to say. There are several that it's hard to pick just one. There are moments during the whole Death Egg saga on the Genesis, Zelda certainly had its share. One of the highest maybe was playing Mario 64 for the first time. That game just blew me away when it first came out.

I LOVE Saga Saturn! It's my favorite system and I rarely find anyone else that sees the greatness in it. I also got it after it died and I have a reletively small library of games for it, but I've never really had a bad moment with it (other than losing backup RAM data TWICE -_-).

Not long ago I figured out that the thing had a system memory that was never used, so I had a blast playing games like Shining Force III and Nights again.

1. What was your first console/system and game?
Well my family owned a Commodor 64, so I guess that was it. We had many games for it, including Gateway to Apshai and Pool of Radiance. (I so want PoR on the NES)
The first system I owned however was the orginal Gameboy in which I got: Sword of Hope, Tetris, Shanghai, Mysterium, and Elevator Action.

2. What got you into gaming? (or what influenced you?)
Well watching everyone play the Com 64 had something to do with it. I also had a friend who had an atari, and we had lots of fun with that. But I think it was my friend with the NES that really made me want my own system. Expecally when I saw Ninja Gaiden for the first time.

3. Your Top 5 Favorite Games!
Well I'm afraid I'm gonna cheat a bit here. See I consider RPGS a leage of their own, so they always get their own top 5 list whenever I do this.
1- MegaMan X2. (I'm a HUGE MegaMan fan, and this is my favorite game of all the series.)
2- Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
3- Devil May Cry 3
4- Castlevania: Sympony of the Night
5- Gitaroo Man

Top Five RPGs:
1- Chrono Trigger! (Awsome, AWSOME game.)
2- Tales of Phantasia (Only game to EVER come close to bumping Chrono Trigger from it's spot)
3- Grandia 2 (I just love this game. I so wish it got it's own sequal)
4- Magic Knight Rayearth for the Sega Saturn. If you have a Sega Saturn, you MUST GET THIS GAME.
5- Alundra (Never before have I cried so much during a game) (Yeah guys cry too. :P)

4. Worst Moment You Ever Had?
Playing through my Gold copy of Zelda OoT for the third time only to have the power flicker off for a second erasing HOURS of play time. I got so mad I threw the game screwing up it's battery for all time. It'll never save a game again. Last time I ever allowed myself to get so mad over something so stupid.

5. Greatest/Most Memorable Moment You Had In Gaming History(only pick one) Most memorable Moment is:
Two friends of mine and myself would stay the night at one of their homes and play the MegaMan X games. We'd take turns trying to beat the levels, mavricks, and finding all the hidden capsules and stuff. Our first time playing X2. We found everything EXCEPT the Armor capsule. We spent about four hours looking for this thing. Combing every inch of each stage trying to figure out where they hid it. We finally had to give up.

Enter next day. I call the only friend I knew of with internet. He tells us it's in Morph Moths stage. So again we go looking for it. We spend another two hours trying to figure out where it is in this stage. My friend with the internet gave us instructions to use the Wheel weapon, but we just can't figure it out. None of the places we drop the wheel is the area we need to get the capsule.

Finally we are looking at the weapon sub screen when I focus on one of the weapons/items X can use. I let out a large scream that basically says "HOW DID I NOT SEE IT!?"

"What!? What!?" My friends ask.

"What's this?" I ask in response highlighting the helemt ability.

"The helmet ability" One answers.

"And what does it do!?" I ask still annoyed at myself for my stupidity. They then joined me in my screams.

The helmet allows you to send a 'target' sensor out that shows you where secrets lie. Like where to dig for a certain capsule.

Three minutes later we have the final capsule of the game.

Uhh dude, you know you can take off the casing to you OOT cart and replace the battery, right ? (Unless somehow the S-RAM broke off the PCB, then you're screwed)

Actually we tried that. Or I had someone look at the battery. The game still wouldn't save even with a new battery in it. What ever I broke must have been some connector or something that reads the battery.

I never learned what caused the problem because at the time it was too much money for me to send to Nintendo. Then I ended up buying a cheep grey cart of the game and just used that. I also now have it both times it appeared on Gamecube. (Though admitingly, N64 is the only way to play it due to the horrible edits Nintendo had to do.)

One of these days I'll look at it and go "You know I should send this in to be fixed" and actually do so. Not really a big deal now.

Thank you for your help though!

A battery cannot be read, sounds like you either:

1. broke off the bracket which goes on top of the battery (which can be replaced, just take your OoT PCB to RadioShack and they should be able to fit one for you), then you should be able to desolder the old clip and put in the new one and solder it in.

or 2. the S-RAM somehow broke off the PCB.

Hopefully it wasn't the latter.

Also, no problem, glad to be of assisstance dude. :D

Worst Moment I ever had- My first NES breaking, luckily a relative gave us another one right after that, and I still have it.

Best Moment- When I got a SNES with 14 games and a game genie for $15 and finding out 2 of the games were rare and that the deal would've run me up $200-300 bucks if I had bought it at ebay or at a collector.
