the facts of life-when mackenzie astin and cloris leachman show up to take mrs garretts place.(though i love mackenzie and george clooney was on that seaason)

different strokes-when danny cooksy(although he is cool) and that woman from designing women showed up and starred as new wife and new stepson. Although the show may have been going way down before that.

Full House: When Stephanie and Michelle grew older.
Family Matters: When they replaced actress JoMarie Peyton-Noble with a younger actress.
      Rugrats: When Kimi was introduced.
All That: When the old cast was replaced.
South Park: When Issac Hayes (As the voice of Chef) left the show, and when Mr. Garrison "transformed into a woman".

Family Matters: Steve the super genious.

Time machines, cloning machine, transformation chamber/DNA, transporter, etc. That was just WAY too stupid.

All in the Family: Mike and Glory move.

While Edith dying killed the show, it really started going down hill when they left the show. Then later having them divorce. They already left, why did they have to have a random episode that ended their marriage too?

        Power Rangers: Turbo.

Now, I never did see every single episode, but I enjoyed it off and on up until the Turbo season. Then it was just... ugh. Annoying villain, lame zords, and corny acting. Not saying the rest of the series wasn't corny, but Turbo was pretty bad, even for Power Rangers.

Step by Step: Puberty (to quote the Jump the Shark site).

There wasn't exactly a defining moment to me where this started going down hill, the kids just outgrew their characters. By the way, did they ever have a final episode, or was it just taken off? I never saw or heard of one.

        Pokémon: This episode again?

When every single episode became the exact same thing except for a diffrent character and setting. Ash and friends run into someone (if female Brock gets his ear yanked), learn about what they do, Team Rocket tries to take Pikachu, Pikachu zaps them away (or the guest character's Pokémon gets rid of them, no matter how weak it is).

3rd Watch: Loss of characters/new Friday timeslot.

When they started killing off characters or having them leave, then bringing in new ones that weren't nearly as interesting. The move to Friday nights certainly didn't help either (hell, most of the time I would forget about it).

        Saturday Night Live: Cast

Whenever it was that they formed their current cast.

Then there are a few that look like they should have jumped the shark, but in my opinion never did.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine- Went to jump when Worf joined and jumped like three sharks when he married Dax

            Growing Pains- Leonardo DiCaprio

seaQuest- went as soon as the network started taking complete control in the first season and made it X-Files underwater

ER- (I will probably get ripped for this) when every episode became the "must see event of the year"

Coach- (hate to disagree Blue Blur) When they went to coach the Orlando Breakers

The A-Team- When they became legit

I totally agree with all those except Coach. I was really surprised how Spin City survived after the loss of Fox. I would add to that list...

The final season of the Xfiles has an episode in which the Lone Gunman die. This episode is actually titled "Jump the Shark".

However, I agree with Ray that the movie is where the series began its downfall.

I think X-Files went out because Mulder left the show, not really because of the movie.

Good call on Laverne & Shirley. Great show right up until they moved the cast out of Milwaukee. What a terrible idea!

And in my opinion, Three's Company never jumped the shark.

                Here are some more:
All In The Family: Edith dies.
                Rosanne: They win the lottery.
                Alf: New baby.
Married With Children: Seven (although most of the episodes were good, but the quality dropped off dramatically after this little stunt).
                Night Court: The final episode.

When Seven showed up I thought Married with Children was going to be cancelled. Basically a new kid or baby on the show is the signal for "the end is near". Luckily Seven was dropped and the show still went on(don't remember how long though?)
Thats it man , Game Over man ,

WONDER SHOWZEN: When Mother Nature got a sex-change. I was too squeamish, and lost the love of all things sick and twisted. But got help from FAMILY GUY.

DINOSAURS: The final episode when all the cast gets extinct. :(

                  SCOOBY DOO: Scrappy. :x

SESAME STREET: Not only Elmo, but from the late 80's onwards it got all wacky and lost the touch big time, that I avoided it.

DEXTER'S LABORATORY: Third and fourth season. Come on guys, I can come up with something better than that!

POWERPUFF GIRLS: Around the time of movie, a lot of episodes were lacking, and there was an anime version by Cartoon Network and Toei (the studio behind DRAGONBALL-Z, SAILOR MOON, and those POWER RANGERS-like shows).

READING RAINBOW: Never jumped. :) That's good.

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: Day one.

Cartoon Network: Live-action movies and one live-action show called ZIXX.

FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: Cross-dressing. And things to make kids gay.

COW AND CHICKEN: The network cancelled it.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ROBOT JONES?: They changed the robot's voice for the second season.

MY LIFE AS A TEENAGE ROBOT: Nick is planning to cancel it. :x

Nickelodeon: Too many good shows are getting swiped off the air and the stupid ones enter.

I have been avoid and ceasing watching Spongebob for a while.

                      It jumped the shark because:
                      Crappy new animation
                      The creator left
                      The plots were becoming gay

It's not the same. I used to love this show. Now, I would rather avoid watching this show anytime because its becoming too crappy. I would rather watch teen dramas I've never seen before like "The OC."

All That jumped the shark when that no-talent hack Amanda Bynes joined

Rugrats jumped the shark when Baby Dill arrived

Doug jumped the shark when it went to ABC/Disney

Nick itself as a network jumped the shark around '98 or so, when they started to extend it to 8:30 instead of ending at 8... i dunno, by then it just didnt have the same 'fun' flavor it had in the early-to-mid 90s

Simpsons jumped somewhere around the "FLANDERS DIES" episode. Fairly Odd Parents jumped when it started. Scooby Doo did indeed jump when Scrappy was introduced. Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries jumped somewhere through the first season.
