Your making me feel old, Now.

For Birdo- just jump on the eggs he shoots at you, Pick them up using the B button and throw them back at his face three times!

Rinse and repeat every time you have to face him later in the game.

dont you stand on top of the eggs, then pick them up above your head, then throw the eggs back at the dinosaur.

exactly. And Birdo is a girl. In this game, she's wart's daughter.

Now all you need is Super Mario Bros. 3. That was the best game the NES ever had. That and Kirby's Adventure.

Don't forget, in one world where Birdo is at the beginning of it (don't remember the number), Don't kill Birdo! Instead, make her face right and ride her egg across the vast ocean. Technically, in the "credits", Birdo is really Ostro.

That was a typo actually, Even in the SMBSS they called her Birdo.

Ostro was the ostrich thing you rode.

Also in Super Mario RPG she was called Birdo

Also, in some fights with Birdo, there's the mushroom shaped blocks, those work fine too

                  s/he

As I recall, the NES manual made him/her out to be, uh... gender dysphoric?

When Birdo is green, you have to use them, cuz all s/he does is spit fire.

That's kind of a gray area. LOL!

Well. It's kind of obvious Birdo is a girl...I mean, c'mon...the pink bow on the head...pink skin...

The bow wasn't on her (?) head in the NES version. I think that was added and she basically became a girl from All-Stars version on.

                            Actually...

As you can see, the bow and eyelashes were there originally.

They were just too small for me to see. Is that from an official Nintendo publication? First transvestite video game character. Now that we've got that all cleared up, let's try to solve the mystery of Error in Zelda II.

Yep. That's directly from the original instruction booklet... except for the stuff I scribbled on it, of course.

I've got no clue on that one. I always thought he was just some useless guy with a weird name.

Funny. According to the original NES booklet, the name is actually "Astro", and he is a boy who pretends he's a girl.

"Ostro". They got the name switched with the ostrich enemy/vehicle in the game.

Yeah the NES sure is a great system. I was actually just playing Kirby's Adventure and Yoshi's Cookie for it. Super Mario Bros 2 is one of my favorite NES games. I am almost glad they did not decide to release the real Super Mario Bros 2 instead just a Doki Doki Panic clone with Mario characters.

Also that thing about Birdo beign a guy but pretending to be a girl is pretty messed up I never know that. That is one of the reasons why I like to get my NES games complete. You can find out more about the game from the book.
