I don't know if their is a topic about this already...

I heard on the news that Disney will no longer sell collectables with happy meals due to increase in obesity. I'm not sure if they will stop selling toys all together or just disney
This isn't a surrender, this is what in the military we call a total a$$ kicking

That's kinda stupid. Yeah, let's blame fat kids on happy meal toys. While we're at it, let's blame it on the food too. Blame it on anything except stupid parents who don't know how to say "no" to their children.

Thats almost as bad as the movie Supersize Me. Of course that will happen if you eat nothing but McDonalds for 30 days. But no one is holding a gun to your head to do it. It's called moderation. Now if more parents could do that and make their little fatass dumpling kids go outside and actually exercise. I mean, turn off the tv and video game. Show them how to ride a bicycle or go hiking. Buy them a pass at the local pool if you don't have or know anyone who has one. I blame the parents for not taking responsibility. Not to mention a few smacks upside their smartassed heads wouldn't hurt. Teach the little bastards some respect.

heck I remember when I was younger and wanted a specific toy they had at the time I would ask if they evern had it then ask if I could just get the toy and never had a problem. That and yes it's ypu to the parents to get the kids out their. Tell you the truth I haven't touched any sort of game since I started up my new school.

I believe that Disney has pulled out of the deal. If I remember correctly, Dreamworks is gonna team up with McDonald's.

I remember if there was a certain toy I wanted as a kid from McDonald's, usually I would just go and buy it for like, 50 cents. They would even let me trade unopened toys for ones I wanted. The majority of the toys I have I bought, so kids don't have to eat the food to get the toys.

McDonald's Happy Meal without a toy is like The Simpsons without Bart.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 toys are going to be the last Disney toys at McDonald's.
The end of an era, I say! Not that I eat at McDonald's anymore, anyway. But McD's hasn't always had Disney toys. I wouldn't know all the technicalities surrounding the toys in the 80's, but McDonald's had some Disney-themed promotions. Then Burger King had Disney toys from the early 90's up until 1997.

Moderation Is The Key With All Types Of Food Especially With Fast Foods. We Need To Start These Kids Off With A Healthy Start. I Know Some Parents That Will Just Give Into the Kids Demands. "I Want My Toy" or Just Being Spoiled Brats And It Has Everything To Do With The Parents

I agree with all that's being said. Yes you have to love your kids but you also have to let them know that life is tough and you're not always going to get exactly what you want all the time, you have to work for things. Also to develop a healthy relationship with your body, respect your body and your body will respect you.

the problem is parents don't want to take responsibility for their actions and don't take criticisms very easily. parents would rather place the blame on the food chain, than look at the micro level of the problem which is their inability to say no to their spoiled rotten kids. ugh, people that can't take responsiblity and blame their problems on everything but themselves just bother me.... :x

I hear ya. My mother teaches at several elementary schools, and she's appalled at how parents don't hold their children responsible for their out-of-control behavior. They blame the teachers, claiming that they stifle and limit the kids in what they're able to do in class, and say that's why their children misbehave. One mother was arrested for lashing out at the principal of my old elementary school last year. When in school, there are rules children need to follow. Parents today are so stupid.

i think it's a really big problem with my/our generation (i'm 22) and especially with the generations just entering school now. parents just dont let kids learn from their mistakes and blame everything else in the mean time.

i work for a company that doesn't electronic home monitoring (ankle bracelets and sobrietors for bad guys) and yesterday we had this one lady screaming at us on the phone because we didn't have the paperwork yet to put her son on our equipment, therefore he had to stay in jail. well she's threatening my boss saying she's calling her attorney (would have been a 1-888-ATTORNEY from the commercials i'm sure) and telling us what horrible customer service we have. well i see his intake today and i was expecting maybe a 17, 18 year old with some minor charge to be her son, but no, he was a 23 year old man with 4 charges of 2nd degree assault with a weapon and a few other charges. i was thinking, let him sit in jail and learn his lesson for goodness sake!! he's a grown man!!! and i'm sure if you asked her how her son got all those charges she'd blame them on someone else or on the cops or something ridiculous! UGH! that just really pushed my buttons because so many parents are like this these days!!

---i'm done with my rant now. thank you!

Yeah, Isn't it funny how you need a license to drive a car, sell hot dogs, fix your home, etc. but you need absolutely NO credentials to become a parent.

You think with all this "childeren are our precious resources BS" that parents would take their jobs just a *little* more seriously, But I guess that's too much to ask of their narcissistic ways. :x
