darthmunk 8 years 6 months ago Posts: 3365	What is your favourite MK game and why? My favourite is Mortal Kombat 2 for the SNES because it has all of the perfect characters, and great levels with outstanding in-game music.

I loved going to the arcade and playing as Baraka and pulling off his awesome impalement fatality. Fun stuff. A match between Baraka and Kitana always resulted in copious amounts of blood flying around. I think I'm going to go fire up MAME and give it a whirl now.

flamepanther 8 years 6 months ago Posts: 948	I didn't like any of the ones I've played very much, but Mortal Kombat II would technically be my favorite. It seemed like the best designed game out of the original trilogy. I haven't played any of the newer ones.

darthmunk 8 years 6 months ago Posts: 3365	I don't really like MK 3 or 4 very much, you can tell they started to go somewhat bad when MK 3 came out. then Mk for wasnt too good either, but Deadly Alliance wasnt too bad, nor is Shaolin Monks. Here are my favorites in order: 1. MK 2 2. MK 3. MK 3 4. MK 3 Ultimate 5. MK Shaolin Monks 6. MK 4 7. MK Deadly Alliance 8. MK Trilogy (long loading times) But those were the only Mk games I have played...so far

If you dont have DA or Deception, dont even bother with DA cuz in deception u get a normal 1 on 1 vs mode, a puzzle game similar to super puzzle fighter 2 turbo, a modified chess style kombat game, a "Konquest" mode which is RPGish in that you run around as Shujinko and face different MK people and tlak to others form other games and when u get into fights its usually training as characters from the game, plus you get koins and also get keys to unlockm stuff in the krypt like characters and artwork for the game and whatnot. Its got 24 characters, each with 2 fatalities. Each character also gets a suicide more, or Hara-kiri, where if you lose, you can kill yourself so your opponent doesn't get the glory of giving you a fatality. You still lose the match, but its fun to rob your opponent of a fatality. Deception also has online play but sadly not many people play anymore. Deadly alliance ONLY had the normal 1 on 1 matches and only ONE fatality per character, most of which SUCKED so horribly (Quan Chi, WTF? Stretch my neck like 4 feet in the air so i topple over and fall down, no blood, no bone snapping, nothing. WHY change his MK 4 beat you with your own leg fatality?). Either way, in October we get MK: Armageddon which will dominate ALL MK games. EVERY character from ALL the MK games is in it, playable, with fatalities, and all that good stuff. But yea I chose MK 2 as it was/is my all time favorite MK game. Characters looked their best, fatalities were the best and very unique, pit fatalities were great. I proably played it more than any SNES game, well next to super mario world, i played that game non stop and still play it because that IS my all time favorite SNES game and also my all time favorite mario game.

darthmunk 8 years 6 months ago Posts: 3365	Thanks for the info on Deception, & the tips on how bad Deadly Aliance is, but I already knew how much it sucked. I rented it when it first came out a few winters ago, I did like they crypt feature though...

System 8 years 6 months ago Posts: 74809	MK2 is probably the best game overall, but the original will always be my favorite. I recall The lines people stood in to play it at the arcades, Mortal Monday, though my favorite memory was going to those crappy grade school parties at this roller rink (did anyone else have those) I would rent the skates and where them, but never sent onto the rink, just played MK n the little mini-arcade crushing any of my classmates who dared challenge me. MK2 was great because I remember playing against my dad for hours on end, Ending every night with him as his favorite, Jax, and I as Kung Lao.

I think one of the robots is well It's either Cyrax or Secktor. Or they both might appear. There's a new MK game out this year called Mortal Kombat Armegedon. EVERY single character from the MK universe is in it including Striker and Sheeva and I thought they'd never appeare in an MK game again. I'll definetly be getting it.

darthmunk 8 years 5 months ago Posts: 3365	Is MK Gold out for Playstation 1 as well? I know its on Dreamcast and N64. In the new one, I hope they also have all of the same moves from the original games too, and the same buttom combos to do those moves. Unlike MK Deception where its all different buttons you have to press and that stupid thing where you can change your fighting style. I hope its the exact same as the original games, except it has all of the charactors, all of the arenas, and its good 3D graphics. THATS ALL!

System 8 years 5 months ago Posts: 74809	MK 2, but I like all of them, MK 2 the most cause that was the first one I played. I have all of the MKs for Genesis, used to have Deadly Alliance, Have Deception, and I have Shaolin monks, even though I don't have a PS2(It was just for the action figures of Liu Kang and Kung Lao) Only MKs I don't have are MK 4 and MK gold.
