You know, I can praise Nintendo for being able to make their own software.

Hardly ever, do you see software for PS and XBox whatever from the hardware manufacturers. The same could, in theory, be said for PC gaming, but that's another rant for another day.

Yeah, I think Nintendo will dominate again. And just because it's a kiddy system, doesn't mean I stay away from it. Nintendo actually makes some damn good games.

My only regret is not getting a gamecube in the first place, but thankfully, Wii will have GC support, so I'm not worried about that. :D

Except that it's not a kiddy system. Wii has three dark, mature games launching with the system, including a violent FPS with swords. That's a very large portion, if you think about how few games a console usually launches with. Necro-Nesia (a survival horror game) certainly isn't going to be a kiddy game, judging from the previews, and Capcom has announced a Resident Evil game for it. Medal of Honor and Call of Duty are heading to the system as well. Then there's the planned disaster game that was previewed at E3, about entire major cities biting the dust.

There's a long list of mature games for all of Nintendo's consoles, all the way back to the NES. Nintendo as a company may have a kid-friendly image, but to accuse their platforms of being kiddy or to think that Nintendo only caters to a very young audience simply reveals a profound ignorance of what games are available. If Nintendo was all about catering to kids, Link wouldn't have stabbed Gannondorf in the face and clear through his head in Ocarina of Time. I rather suspect that most people who make these accusations are themselves insecure about their own perceived maturity. Who else but an insecure adolescent points at others and says "Ha ha! Look at the little babies!"? If they weren't so irritating, I'd feel sorry for these people because they're missing out on some of the best games of all time. As it is, they deserve to miss out on it. They won't win here becuase there's nothing to win. It's all in their minds.

Well, I didn't mean to say that in the sense I said it in, I do agree that Nintendo isn't a kiddy system.

And I do NOT point out people who play videogames and go "LOLz he still plays nintendo and mario!!!111" Personally, I could care less.

OK, I watch Nickelodeon and Nicktoons Network. And I don't care who makes the remarks.

I wasn't talking about you, and didn't mean to imply that. Sorry if you took offense :(

Past my initial statement that it's actually not a "kiddy" system, I was just reflecting my thoughts on the subject in general.

From what I understand, Nintendo isn't exactly in direct competition with Sony and Microsoft. I can believe that, seeing as they're doing something completely different (name, controller, old game database) that's making everybody go "Oooooh". So I don't think Nintendo will be 3rd place. Not only because it's technically not in the running, but also because too many people are intrigued by the originality. PS3...ooooh so original. XBox...360...now that's a thinker. (sarcasm  )

i dont think nintendo shouldent have to compete thats gust retarded because with out nintendo i dont think games would have cought on as well as it did. and yes i now atari came first but in my eyes nintendo is what cought peoples eyes and also sony and xbox are newer to the gaming comunity when you campare them to nintendo. so eventualy in the future im sure theirs going to be another argument betwen the next generation on probable the same thing but by then im sure that nintendo will not be an issue they will always be the ones to look up to in a sense.

but thats what i think but i like them all so i think i might not have the best arguments :D

Sony also paid compliments to the Wii, so I wouldn't read too much into Peter Moore's E3 comment that people will be buying Nintendo's system. He was making a jab at Sony's price tag by pointing out that you can get both of the other two systems for the price of one PS3.

Plus, teaming up with Microsoft wouldn't really help Nintendo.

Maybe one, or two more boxes. After 2020, MS will be no more.

i can see microsoft biting the dust in the near future myself. the corporation has gotten so big that it can brealy hold its own weight. i believe...one more flop....if microsoft vista bombs....game over.

                                  Ninjamonkey: I see Vista+XBox 360 bombing.

However, I think we'll at least see Windows Vienna, and then by the year 2020 (which is sometime when Vienna support will end) Unix and Nintendo will pwn j00.

I don't see why some of you are saying who copied who, or whats original? I realize how companys use ideas/products from other companies in their way, but how original can you get? how many different ways can you make a rumble or controller vibration feature?
Its the evolution of consoles. A Company will eventually come up with an idea, but more likely someone will come up with the same or similar idea given the time!

it happens often that ideas are passed around and companys play off each other, hell if jack had a great idea you were competeing with jack wouldent you take that same great idea so that jack doesent have something you dont
