Except that it's not a kiddy system. Wii has three dark, mature games launching with the system, including a violent FPS with swords. That's a very large portion, if you think about how few games a console usually launches with. Necro-Nesia (a survival horror game) certainly isn't going to be a kiddy game, judging from the previews, and Capcom has announced a Resident Evil game for it. Medal of Honor and Call of Duty are heading to the system as well. Then there's the planned disaster game that was previewed at E3, about entire major cities biting the dust.
There's a long list of mature games for all of Nintendo's consoles, all the way back to the NES. Nintendo as a company may have a kid-friendly image, but to accuse their platforms of being kiddy or to think that Nintendo only caters to a very young audience simply reveals a profound ignorance of what games are available. If Nintendo was all about catering to kids, Link wouldn't have stabbed Gannondorf in the face and clear through his head in Ocarina of Time. I rather suspect that most people who make these accusations are themselves insecure about their own perceived maturity. Who else but an insecure adolescent points at others and says "Ha ha! Look at the little babies!"? If they weren't so irritating, I'd feel sorry for these people because they're missing out on some of the best games of all time. As it is, they deserve to miss out on it. They won't win here becuase there's nothing to win. It's all in their minds.
