    		 I remember playing two games when I was young at a local store. I cannot remember the names of the games though.

    1) The first game that if was in the future and you had to pick up robot parts to attach to your ship to create a large robot who would wield this two handed lazer gun-type thing. I don't remember much else. I do remember that the perspective was sort of like Zaxxon in that is was a kind of 3-D angled layout.

    2) The second game was a demolition derby game (heck, that might even be the name) but there was a red car and a blue car and you would have demolition derbies. You could smash the front and steam would come out of the radiator. The cars kind of looked like Cadillacs or something...and it was an aerial view. I remember you could run over these little wrenches to fix you car.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I'm not sure about the first one, though... if it's in the 3D isometric perspective,the only one I can think of is Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters, but that has more to do with upgrading your weapon, saving the humans & then driving your spaceship in the bonus levels... and it was a 1-handed laser-gun, so I'm probably way off except the perspective!

        		 Thanks for the info on the D Derby...unfortunately the second game you mentioned isn't the one that I was looking for. I'll have to check out that website you sent, though. That seems to have a TON of games...it's bound to be on there...if I find it I will post the name...

          		 I found it! The game I was thinking of is called MagMax. Here is the link. I remember this game being a ton of fun!
