I was going through my attic, just lookin around, and I found an old coleman lantern used for camping etc., when I took it out of the box I noticed there was something else at the bottom....... to my disbelief , was an original 1977 Star wars Luke Skywalker action figure, with lightsaber-arm thing still intact!
I almost crapped my pants, it was flawless, except for it being out of the box.
I really want to find out what it's worth, but I probably won't sell it. Anyone know what its value might be for an open box original Luke Skywalker 1977, before they modified the lightsaber? :D

You might want to look for a toy collector's book. I'm pretty sure that they have them around somewhere. Or check out ToyFare Magazine. They usually keep tally of the cost of old action figures and such. And if it's not in there, I'm sure that you can email them & ask them about it.

      Hope this helps.

Checking a figures value in a price guide is pointless. A figure is worth what it sells for on ebay, period. Thats your best bet for finding its value.

This is the way to go, on E-bay you can see very quickly what people are willing to pay for stuff. The toy guides are sometimes outdated by the time they get to the stores.
