Thread: Kray's sketch dump

I'll just put a few sketches in here. I haven't scanned anything really recent lately but I'll put in some new ones hopefully on a somewhat regular basis so something is actually happening on here. (and so I'm actually getting some work scanned in)

This one was a sketched card I made for my mom's birthday a couple months ago. Just a bunch of my own characters coming to wish her a happy B-Day. I'm such a momma's boy sometimes

Just a few concepts for isolating some "scary traits" to put into some villain concepts. And yes one of them is the Ring, that movie freaked me out first time I saw it.

Part of a commission I'm doing for a friend. It's supposed to be a rabble of skeliton soldiers or something charging. I really need to redo this, their slanted heads really annoys me...

A few sketches of my main man Mario doin what he does.

I had to put this one up. This was something I did for Valentines Day. I was watching the news and one of the reports was that Saddam Hussein was throwing a fit in the courtroom again. He was mad because, well he put it like this, "I didn't revcieve one Valentines Day card!" I was laughing for about 10 minutes after hearing that. So I had to make a charicature of him.

    Thanks for looking, Enjoy

      Nice!

      Keep em coming!

"Lonely heart Saddam" is a classic! He just didn't have his Dorito fix today.

It's been a while since I've added anything on here.

                  Here's a few I did recently

                  Lego Vader

                  Viva Italia!!
Done when Italy won the World Cup

                  Jack and Jeb
From Disney's Home on the Range

                  Savage Underground

                  Passenger's Side
A gesture drawing I did while in the car.

Well here's another installment in Kray's Sketch dump

                  Enjoy

Funny you should mention that. That guy in your soccer drawing looks a heck of a lot like your avatar drawing minus the goat.

                      Great job by the way.

Thanks again for the props guys ^^

And I still have yet to do a Zidane pic. But I'll get to that one later

Now I have a few new sketches to show.

                        Hobbes looking on

                        Sometimes I just do stuff like this ^^;

And sometimes it's just better to put a whole bunch of sketches on one sheet. This was my last trip to the zoo (which I still enjoy very much)

That's it for now. More to come later when I have less things to do.

Cool, Your second drawing looks like pre-production work on an animated show or something.

Although the kid in your last pictures, Looks evil!

You're pretty good Kray. Do you do a lot of random sketching?(I ask that because of your zoo sketches.) Eons ago when I was in high school, I was constantly getting detention for ignoring the teachers and sketching like mad.(desks, chairs, trees, the backs of my schoolmates heads, etc.) Did you get in trouble for that in school too, or was I the only idiot with that problem?

All those people who did that on my school went on to become production designers and conceptual artists making 10 times the amount the teachers made.

Wow, really? Because I went on to make $2.00 above the minimum wage at a factory. The lucky bastards...

No, it's because I was a lousy artist. I didn't have what it took to make it. It wasn't for lack of trying. You could say I was the "Rudy" of illustrators. I had all the enthusiasm in the world, but not the skills to go with it. My figures were anatomically unbalanced, my backgrounds lacked depth, my compositions left much to be desired, and I never seemed to get foreshortening quite right. All those things being true, I take solace in knowing this: EVEN MY WORST DOODLE WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING ROB LIEFELD EVER DREW!!!!

Kray is just going to love us for taking up so much space in the thread meant for his artwork.

If your work WAS worse than Rob Liefeld it would be safe to say you would be shunned forever off this board and isolated for the good of humanity.

Well, At least our posts keep this thread on the map so he doesn't have to hunt for it next time.

He can delete these posts if he wants to. Its his thread.

Haha, No I don't mind. Just don't spam it for too long

I'm just glad my sketches are getting some attention.

Oh and yeah that's kinda what I did during middle school. In fact I was a tutor for students a couple of grades lower than me in my freetime when I was on the bus. In high school though I gave it up and focussed on sports, music, and critiquing movies mostly. I never really studied much but I still got A's most of the time anyway so there wasn't much stopping me from doodling in my free time anyway though. ^^
