System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	onestly i think the greatest next to mk game series is the final fantasy series i have almost all the games i have antholgy,chronicles,7,8,9,10,X-2 so i think the best series next to mortal kombat is final fantasy get it got it good.

(personally, i'd do it too )

Blue Blur 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 359	I like Final Fantasy, but I haven't been liking where the series has been going lately. I don't like how they screwed up the numerical series by making FFXI a side game and breaking tradition with a sequel (a mediocre filler in place of a true FFXI). Trying to cash in on FFVII's popularity in any way they can has also been a bit of a turn off. But yet I am looking forward to FFXII and Advent Children (the only FFVII off-shoot that I can accept). So far my favorite is probably FFIX. It was a great combo of new and old.

It was the first one that I really played (as I only played the original once or twice) and I was engrossed with it. I loved the story, I loved the characters, and I loved how smoothly everything flowed. When I finally took down Zeromus it felt like such an accomplishment. I thought FF6 (3 USA) was okay, but it just never grabbed me like FF4 did. I've never really cared for the Playstation FF games as the move to 3D just didn't seem "right" to me. In addition, I think I had outgrown video games by that point.
