what were the most trippy video games ever in ur opinion... a few of mine:

Mario 2: lol, this game was a little out there, nothing like throwing radishes at ostriches, :D

Mario 3: "grass land", "sky land", "pipe land", somebody at Nintendo a little under the influence, hmm?

Mario World: wow, and I thought Mario 2 & 3 were trippy... this one was bizarre! every world was named after some kind of food, lol... "Chocolate Island", "Cheese and Butter Bridges", "Donut Island", etc

This game's not really retro, but playing Freelancer (especially the jump gate/jumphole sequences) on certain chemicals is certainly an interesting experience. Not that I condone such behavior.

HAHA i forgot about that one, lol yea, that one was a little bizarre, the music was very trippy, and all the objects on the levels were bizarre, they were little squiggly things

that game was fun though, even though it was VERY tough sometimes... i hated the big black ball that would try to knock you off, i hated slippery parts, and I especially hated the last level where you had to go up the board instead of down, AGHH that was impossible

I'm totally convinced the soundtrack was entirely put together by some old stoner going gonzo on a casio or something!

How about the original Super Mario Bros., you got a plumber who thought he got bigger after eating a mushroom and that he could break through brick walls. After picking a flower he thinks he can throw fire from his hand.
Thats it man , Game Over man ,

Mario World: Thats what they did when they had the munchies lol. First the "influence/drugs land" and then came "the munchies land" lol. And then there was the star world, and when you beat all the star world, then you went to these levels called like cool, radical, gnarly, bodacious, wicked, and other popular retro words that the kids always used to say...ahh good times...

"Bubble Bobble" was also a little out there

That is true and also in Mario 3, you get a guy who thinks he's a racoon after eating some leaf , then runs and flies. And in Mario World he ties a curtain around his neck and then runs and flies.

ANy Mario Game....think about it, a fat brooklyn plumber who eats mushrooms, flowers, leafs, and wears furry suits modeled after animals, and thinks he can fly, spit fire from his hands, and knock enimies down by glowing like a disco ball, and sees walking mushrooms, giant turtles, frowning clouds, and flying turtules, bullets with smiley faces, ghosts, apparations, and little midgets in costumes that resemble something out of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" video.

Also, Adventure was pretty trippy with those low resolution Drag-O-Ducks, that flying moustache-like bat, and your hero being a mere enlarged square pixel.
