Slippy was the frog, and i thought he was a girl because his voice sounded like a girl's! Lol, and you couldnt really tell whether or not it was a boy by look alone.

What do you mean by "voice"? Are there versions of the game where he speaks?

yeah...SUper Mario Brother Smash melee on the stage where falco and fox fight in classic (or is it adventure) mode. ALso in Star Fox 64...wait im not sure thats the title though, but there was a nintendo 64 game of star fox.

That explains it. I only played the NES and SNES versions. It was quite clear that he was male.

        "it was quite clear?"
Then how come its and age old question. I mean, sorry to slippy, but you cant really tell by looks alone, so i went with it's voice.

          1. It's not an "age old" question, it's only been around since N64.
          2. It's quite obvious by the way he looks that he's male in every version. And yes, you can tell by looks. In almost every case looks take precedent over voice. That's all you got in the older versions.

          That's no female!

I always thought Slippy was a young male. I didn't really get into the game until my brother showed it to me. Well, now I know better ;)

Oops! You're right! I figured that was a mistake right after I posted. I must've been thinking of the never released Star Fox 2 and assumed that was the SNES version.

Always presumed that he was a guy, since there was already one, mandatory female in the team.

Why the hell does the toad wear a necklace?? It looks like a male but no male character would wear a necklace unless of course Slippy is the first ever homosexual video game character.

My guess would be that he wears a hat, choker (not really a necklace), and studders a lot because he's supposed to be the youngest and most inexperienced pilot.
