thecrow174 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 9807	Genesis has some great games like the Sonic games, Vectorman, Comix Zone and others, but I like SNES because it had cool games like Chrono Trigger, Mario, the Donkey Kong games, and some other great games.

gaastra 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 473 Account Disabled	Thats a hard choice. Super nes beats it with super mario kart, mario rpg, FF3, zelda link to the past, and others. Sega had some great games to, but super nes wins out to me.

System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	I would definitely have to go with the SNES. Nintendo has always put out the more fun and all around better games. Even now, I like the graphics better on all the systems, but if I had to choose any system based solely on gameplay, I'd have to go with anything made by nintendo over the more recent stuff. They have better stories, characters, etc.

System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	SNES is my favorite system of all time. Genesis had some good games - like Sonic, Golden Axe, Vector Man, Toe Jam & Earl, etc...but the SNES was king. You can't beat games like Super Mario Word, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fantasy II & III, Chrono Trigger, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Super Star Wars Trilogy, Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, Contra III, Super Punch-Out!!, Donkey Kong Country Trilogy, Yoshi's Island, Killer Instinct, Super Mario RPG, Gradius III, T.M.N.T IV: Turtles in Time, Actraiser, Mega Man X Trilogy, Mega Man 7, and so on. Also, SNES games could have alot more detail then Genesis games. And SNES games also had much better color and WAY better sound.

System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	id have to say snes. i remember when donkey kong was released and marvelling over the graphics! lol. i loved how there was a foreground, middle ground and background. very very cool. and the mine kart stages! woo! super fun.

Dawg 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 484	Although Genesis had its advantages... ...I'd have to say SNES by a mile. I originally got the Genesis the same week it came out & enjoyed it thourally... but racing games & any other first-person racing/flying/action game that came out was kind of a disappointment (except the original Super Hang-On & Space Harrier which seemed smooth). The sound-chip also recycled a lot of effects & digital effects were at a minimum. ...out comes SNES a year or so later, and you've got full scaling, rotating, and sound effects that can perfectly emulate an arcade (see: Smash TV). I don't get into it initially because I already have Genesis & last thing I need is another game-system, but I caved in when it went down in price. First game I got was Smash TV on top of the Mario that came with it. I was instantly hooked because the graphics AND sound were so much more crisp & clear than Genesis. It just made the games all that much more fun to play. ...I also couldn't help but to compare Ghouls & Ghosts with Super Ghouls & Ghosts for SNES. Sure, there was a little slow-down on the SNES game, but the sound & graphics were much better by comparison... ...in the end, definately SNES, but Genesis had its share of quality titles (Phantasy Star II being one of my favs).

ataristic 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 493	you choice depends on what you where into. if you where like me , into 3d polygon games , you would choose the Genesis but if you where into platformers and anithing with the word "mario" on it, you would go SNES. i started the 16 bit era with the genesis but eventually had both systems . my collection of games is much larger for the genesis though. the only reason i bougth the SNES was to play wng commander , fzero, and starfox, but evetually the game i got really hooked on was aerobiz.

System 8 years 7 months ago Posts: 74809	Genesis definently had it's fair share of good games, such as the various Sonic titles and the games made by Treasure, but overall I think SNES is better. Games like Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Final Fantasy III (VI), Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and the Donkey Kong County series have played a large role in shaping who I am today.
