Funky Guy 8 years 5 months ago Posts: 2638 Account Disabled	Cartoons from when I was a kid: Garfield (I used to have a few on Beta but that's not much good now) The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show (especially when What's Opera Doc aired, that's rarely played on tv now) Anamaniacs (Loved, loved, loved that show. I'm a big Who fan and I never got to see the Woodstock Slappy episode to this day. Everyone tells me about it, I have yet to see it in reruns. I did see the Apocalypse Now/ Doors parody one which was great.) TV Shows: WKRP (CBC used to air it syndicated with most of the original music intact for years, I loved that show I should have taped some. I have a few now but they're all horribly dubbed over with muzak.) Night Court (I wouldn't shell out for a DVD but it'd be fun to have a couple on video. Mmmmmm, Markie Post [drools]) Late Night Talk Show Stuff (was way too young as a kid the first time, there's 80's stuff from Carson and Letterman I wish I had now.) WTVK-TV 26 2. WKXT-TV 8 3. WATE-TV 6 4. WBIR-TV 10 5. WKCH-TV 43 I would also record any TV shows with original commercials if I were to go back in time with my VCR. Those include "The Dukes of Hazzard", "Dallas", "Hooperman", "Three's Company", and many other shows.

ThreeTimesOneMinusOne 8 years 4 months ago Posts: 518	I mentioned how I would tape stuff for my weird collage tapes of random TV stuff (And when I tape stuff late at night, I like putting random short, funny clips between blips of the colour bars that stations run in the early AM hours, on my tapes. It's really amusing and the tapes are full of surprises.). I also splice together a lot of little random clips that are a couple frames each (which amounts to maybe a tenth of a second), so it's a whirlwind of stuff. But for stuff that isn't for those tapes, I'd probably tape old Muchmusic (especially episodes of the Countdown) from 1984 (when Much premiered) to the late 90's. And I'd tape a lot of the Canucks playoff games and stuff from TSN and Hockey Night In Canada. Oh yeah, and lots of famous world events from the 80's and 90's, as they become breaking news (Challenger, Berlin Wall, Chernobyl, Stock Market Crash, SF Earthquake and the World Series game it interrupted, Bill Buckner and the Red Sox collapse, The '86 Oilers and Steve Smith scoring on his own net, New Coke, Kurt Cobain's death, all sorts of things.). I would need to research the dates of all the big stuff before I went back in time to the 80's.). One interesting thing, if I lived in Chicago, I would tape the news from the night when those Max Headroom fans interrupted the satellite, and interrupted the news. I think they also interrupted Dr. Who, another channel that same night. I would definitely want to tape that. All the cool news and stuff from there would be transferred onto one of my collage tapes.

qntmlpr 1 year 9 months ago Posts: 3	I would go back to Friday, June 3, 1983 with at least a dozen Magnavox HDD/DVD recorders (just in case one would eventually fail) and thousands of blank DVDs. I would instruct my younger self to record the premiere of *Night Tracks* on SuperStation WTBS at 11:05 PM CT and as much future episodes of Night Tracks and the spinoff shows (America's Music Tracks, Chartbusters, Power Play, Power Play Dancin', Power Hits, etc.) as he wanted (virtually every episode). I would also tell my younger self that Night Tracks was originally cancelled in May 1992 and maybe writing some letters every week starting in early 1989 to keep Night Tracks as it was (14 hour CHR format every weekend) before they "jumped the shark" in August 1989 and gradually cut back for Night Flicks and then made the dreaded switch to Alternative in 1991. Before I set the timer to 1983, I would also make a quick trip to 2003 and buy up some stand alone Hi-Fi Stereo VCRs on the cheap (before they were discontinued for DVD Player VCR combo) just in case his friends wanted VHS copies. Of course my younger self, my sister and my parents would have to promise to keep their mouths shut because this technology doesn't exist in 1983.
