Thew 9 years 4 months ago Posts: 189	you probably wouldn't get much for those considering amazon is selling them around the 12 dollar range i'm keeping all my old ones (i have most of them) for nostalgic reasons i got this because I'm a packaging freak...the hardcover alone sold me and a new introduction by watterson (very rare for him to speak) is just awesome

Guess I'll be keeping them. I just preordered this and the complete Far Side collection. Thew 9 years 4 months ago Posts: 189	i tried 3D software..but i'm trying to focs more on my streanths...drawing and illustration..i would love to get into the video game industry eventually...movies.. but i would really like to be a comic book artist... I'm not going to a fully dedicated school for art but i am studying drawing and illustration

GrimmBilly 9 years 4 months ago Posts: 211	Yeah, 3D is definetly a different medium. I haven't really drawn anything since the late 90's, although I need to get back into it. Sounds like you'd make a good concept artist since you want to stick with 2D. Have you tried Painter? It seems to be what most concept artists are using these days.

Thew 9 years 4 months ago Posts: 189	i just got the new painter IX tinkered around with it...that's what i used to color that ninja turtle pic that was my first try and doing anything like that...self taught..i might take a few classes eventually i'ma get myself a wacom tablet

You've probably heard of these guys, but they're a couple of the top concept aritsts in the industry, movies and games. I'm almost positive they use painter, but don't quote me on that. http://www.goodbrush.com/mainpage/index2.htm http://www.fengzhudesign.com/ FengZhu actually has some tutorials if you go to the "workshops" section.
