it would just be weird if they brought it out with its 2-D graphics still but if they update it with better graphics it would be weird!

Its called the YoBo. There are several other companies making 'new' NES's as well. Just browse the NES section under video game systems on ebay and you'll find them.

              thanks a lot man.

unforunately, the ol' nes is starting to show its age. its very, very sad.. i still want to play all the games as (most) of them are still working..

i guess i'll buy a YOBO and shrink wrap the NES and put it somewhere safe.

do you have one? is it any good? i want to know if its worth spending the 20 bucks or not.. if its a piece of junk i dont really want to make the effort of finding one and purchasing one.

maybe i'll just buy another one off this website i stumbled on... ehhhh i dont know!!! :? ?????????????? :?

Bought one at a flea market a while back to keep the mileage on my original NES down. No complaints at all. Works perfectly, accepts the original controllers, light gun, power pad etc. It comes with everything you need to play, 2 controllers, cables, ac adpter etc. Best 20 bucks I've spent in a while.

apparently (i just read) you can use your old controllers.

dont you need a certain adapter for it in order to play the original games? i read that its japanese and you can only play those games on it unless you can an adapter.

Dont know about the other ones, but the YoBo plays US games just fine.

Nintendo didn't put very much thought into the original NES loading interface. Over time the contact pins get all bent up and the system becomes worthless. I got an original NES from a friend of mine in a trade and got the classic TMNT. I was excited to play TMNT and then I discover that the damn machine doesn't work. Now look at my Atari 2600. It and all of it's games still work even after 20+ years with hardly any problems.

I'd buy a new NES system if they'd lower the price some more. I mean you can get an original Super NES at a garage sale for $5 and it is superior to a NES type system in every way.

Hey on the new Nintendo Revolution that comes out later this year you will be able to play old Nintendo games on it . You will be able to download the games I don't know if that will help you out or not but if your Nintendo is wearing down it's probably the best thing to do.

As I said before the original NES has a flaw. It can be fixed but what is the point when you could go out and find that updated top loading NES Nintendo made when the SNES came out. Does anyone know if these NES playing systems that are being currently made will be sold at actual stores instead of just being online order only? I'd like to get one of these systems.

You can buy new connectors for your worn out NES. IIRC, they're like 15 bucks on ebay. The toploading NES isn't exactly cheap when they pop up on ebay.
The $20 'new NES' isn't sold in stores.

Yeah, I could go out and buy new connectors but what would be the point. They would just get all bent up again. In total my family has three classic NES systems, all three of them came into possession with the claims that the previous owners had just played the systems yet when I go to the trouble of hooking any one of them up they don't work and just flash the blue screen. I'm not going to waste money fixing a classic system when I could go out and get the official Nintendo update made in the 90's or a clone that would actually work.
