      emo
      new "punk"
      reality tv
      american idle
      krumping
      high gas prices
      post 9/11 paranoia
canned premade movie sequels (star wars, LOTR,etc)
      Harry Potter fad
      cult of Oprah
      evening soaps (desperate housewives)
multiple channels for the same network
      excesive CGI in movies
      movie clones (aeon flux=ultraviolet, capote=in cold blood,etc)

Anime (nine times out of ten I don't get what people see in it, I find the animation to be sub par and the stories to be boring at best.)

Rap culture clawing it's way into everything

Any tv show with substance will be probably cancelled before it gets to season 3 (like Deadwood and Arrested Development) whereas shows like Two and Half Men thrive. I hardly watch TV anymore, just You Tube and DVDs. My tv has pretty much turned into the monitor for my DVD player.

Mainstream Pop Music (no actual musicians or singers were used in the making of this music)

        Emo

MTV and Much Music should change their names because they have nothing to do with music anymore.

Lack of original movies (I was very impressed by Thank-you for Smoking but that was a rare exception. The amount of sequels and remakes out right now sickens me. They NEVER improve on the original. I just read the other day a brilliant UK film from the 70's, The Wicker Man will be remade soon. Horrible.)

My generation and the next few coming down the pike. My generation in their early 20's have already turned into carbon copies of their parents. I also see alot of that assholish Me Decade behaviour coming back. The younger generations all want to be Paris Hilton and K-fed and it's all funded by mommy and daddy's credit cards.

My Space. I prefer well moderated message boards. I also find leaving the house every now and then to be a good way to 'hook up' and 'add new friends to my list.'

Low rise jeans. Does anyone seriously believe they make you look good? All you see are girls with no asses with bellies poking out over their pants.

God, I could go on forever about the crappy things nowadays. But...I'll just narrow it down as much as I can. And I'll try to be positive.

Top 5 things about the 00's:

                  - Cable internet.
                  - The affordability/wide selection of DVDs.
                  - Digital cameras (There's also bad things about these...)
                  - Chappelle's Show.
                  - Anime is more readily available and less hacked to bits. (There's cons attached to this one too.)

Digital cameras kinda suck because they've pretty much ousted traditional photography except in like, some professional/artistic uses. They're cool for, you know, right now, but what about in 20 years?

The anime thing...well...we get almost too much of it now. We get every damn series, seems like, and they're not all that good anymore.

So, even some of the cool things have bad things about them. I tried, I really did.

                  And now...

Bottom 5 things about the 00's:

                  - The invasion of "political correctness."
                  - Lazy parents and their horrible children.
                  - Minimum wage vs. the cost of living.
                  - Pretty much everything about television.
                  - A general lack of freshness in most media (TV, movies, music, books, comics, et al.)

I dunno, am I the only one that feels the world as we knew it began drawing to a close around 2001? Maybe I just feel that way because that's when I graduated from highschool. And I'm talking about pre-9/11, but it felt even worse after that.

even in good looking girls, the fad is just tired. you know this fashion trend has gone too far when you see cleaning ladies and fast food workers wearing them at work

I can certainly agree with the overly PCness. It seem like everything has to PC or else its trashy.

the sheer number of reality shows hopefully they will become less popular in the next few years.

Reality TV (I'm sick of reality TV altogether)
the cartoons (Today's cartoons are boring and don't appeal to me. A lot of them are either gross-out Ren and Stimpy inspired cartoons or fighting cartoons based off cards.)
the music (much of the music sounds the same and it's so depressing rather than fun)
