You should check out the NES cover bands out there- NESkimos, The Advantage, The Mini-Bosses, etc. They really do a good job of putting a new spin on the old music. I'd say my favorites: NES Castelvania's. All Legend of Zelda games. NES Ninja Gaiden's Contra

That steel drum tune from 1-1 in SUper Mario Bros 3. Ridley & Kraid's Hideout from Metroid The death theme from Dragon Warrior IV Pitfall II: THe Lost CAverns, and the hilarious "Monkey With The Shaky Knees" that the music reminds me of Ambrosia, and the Overworld Theme from Ultima: Exodus for the NES Stones from all the Avatar era Ultima games The last world in Kirby's Adventure Just about every friggin tune from Star Tropics The water levels from Super Mario Land Song C from Tetris (NES) The Secret Of Monkey Island Leisure SUit Larry Freddy Pharkas plus a ton more that show up at random, not just do they get stuck in my head, but I can play (most of) them on guitar too, now that's nuts

I read that somewhere and listened to them back to back, and they were hilariously similar.

Wordplay 8 years 8 months ago Posts: 202	Incidentally, the best 'tunes' come from the early games, since they had to rely on short, catchy melodies. The best one I still remember is from Megaman 4 and the fake "end boss" before Dr. Wily. Simply put it: awesome tune and it's a real shame that no one has made a remix out of it on OCRemix.org.
