do you think that the companys will ever remake the old consoles for fans of retrogameing like a new atari 2600(not jsut a flash back or a plug in with 10 games) or a new version of the nes. seems they could make a flahs back with a cartrage slot so they could put 20 2600 games on each cartrage that way you could play more then the 20 games the system came with jsut plug a new cartrage in with 20 diffrent games. because when i want retro gameing i want more then 20 games then have to buy a new flash back with 20 other games on it.
    FABOO!

Personaly I dont think it would happen. It does not seem like it would be a big seller. Look at the Atari and NES games and compare them with the X-box 360, Playstations, and the Nintendo systems. I am not saying they wouldn't sell, just not a big seller.

And By the way spell checker is your best friend :)

The system's respective companies probably wouldn't re-release their old consoles but that doesn't mean other companies won't produce their own hardware to play those old games. Look at the Messiah Generation NEX console:

plays every nintendo and famicom game(almost) on completely new hardware. I hope we see other consoles remade as their patents expire aswell.

I doubt it, but the Revolution kind of comes close allowing downloads of NES, SNES, and N64 games. I just hope they're free (or cheap, anyway) and it doesn't require a high speed wi-fi set up like the DS.

It hooks up through composite( red, yellow, white connectors). The controllers look a little janky but It looks like you can use the regular NES controllers and accessories with it.

There are several companies that unofficially make 'new nintendo's', although that one definately looks the coolest. I have one called 'YoBo', that I picked up from a flea market for 20 bucks to keep from puting miles on my original NES. They're all over ebay as well.

As far as companies officially re-releasing the original consoles, I don't think that will happen. The closest we'll see is 'best of' discs and the newer consoles which will allow you to download old games.

Yeah, i've seen those on ebay, there are tons of em and they all look different. They're definitley cheaper than the Gen NEX. Do they work good?? It doesn't look like you can use nintendo accessories but I can't tell from the pics.

The one I have works perfectly. Its a toploader too, so theres no dreaded flashing blue screen. The plugs for the controllers are the same as the old NES controllers, so any NES accessory should work with it. I have the light gun and the power pad and they both work on it.
