How many of you remember this arcade classic? I think I spent every token I had at our local Mr. Gattis trying to beat that game. One day...I went back to play it...and it was gone. :(

i remember this game. it was always most fun when you had four people playing simultaneously, but it always seemed like i could never find enough people willing to play or spend mass amounts of quarters to beat it.

TMNT for NES was one of my all time favorite games EVER!

          Classic Wizard quote about it:

"Doesn't take that much intelligence to play that game, does it?"
          "You should know.."

Wasn't a big fan of TMNT II: The Arcade Game.. but TMNT III: The Manhattan Project was fun.. and the SNES game, "Turtles in Time" was kickass

I still play that arcade game. We had a road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco and we played that on my laptop with my cousins on the way there. I'm also glad that Chuck E. Cheese has the arcade there! I saw it sitting in a corner when I took my nephew to play some games.

A classic, for sure. When TMNT mania was going strong, the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ had an arcade filled w/ nothing but this game. I wasn't very good at video games back then, so I would stand by the machines and watch other people play.

While that arcade room is gone now, there are still arcades on the boardwalk that have it. You know how it would play the opening theme and then show some demo footage (all while "INSERT COIN" flashed)? Well, there was one machine that didn't play the theme, but "Pizza Power."

Remember playing TMNT 1 back then and for some reason I hated that water level where you had to disarm these 4 bombs... The sequel, TMNT2, was however much better especially when playing with a buddy. Never got to play part #3, it never got the EU, but by what I have tested it on emulators, perhaps it was only good.

Turtles in Time rocked though and Tournament Fighters was pretty good too. A bit too easy, but still good.

The arcade game was great but Turtles in Time was by far the best TMNT games ever in my opinion. It may possibly be one of the best side scrolling beat em up games as well.

Oh, baby I loved this game!

I drained so much money on this and the X-Men arcade game. The arcade by my mall had this enormous version where you could play like 6 people at once... I remember one day we had six people playing and we were just pumping quarters in that game left and right.

If I had another chance I'd play this game again. One of Konami's greatest games.

Remember playing the LCD handheld versions, similar to the Tiger handhelds and the Game & Watch handhelds? They were slightly difficult and boring.

Right now, Turtles in Time is unlockable in the newest TMNT game.

That's rather interesting. AFAIK, the TMNT from 1987 are supposed to be separate entities from the TMNT of 2003.

I just went to VG Museum and looked up the TMNT arcade game, and it was actually TMNT 2 for NES with much better graphics and an ending not as good as the NES version's.

Also, there is an arcade version of Turtles in Time, but like the first Arcade, it didn't have a ending as good as the home console version.
