I've got a couple of each. Not really a big collecting priority for me right now. Check out the link in my sig. There are several people on the forums that collect both lines.

I still have my orginal "hand puppet" spider that I got for Christmas in the mid-80s. I lost the figure that went with it years ago, but I found another one at a thrift store recently that fits perfectly.

Whenever I ask people about Sectuars they never seem to know what I'm talking about. Was it that short lived? I mean Food Fighters were no where near as cool but everyone remembers them.

They weren't around long. Most people my age that I've talked to don't remember them either.

"On the distant planet Symbion, a genetic experiment fails. Frightening changes take place that cannot be stopped. The result? A world where insects and arachnids grow to frightening proportions. A world where the inhabitants have taken on the awesome characteristics of insects and arachnids. Where the Shining Realm of Prosperon is locked in mortal combat with the Dark Domain of Synax.

Telepathically bonded in combat, Sectaur Warriors join with their insect and arachnid companions in the ultimate battle for survival."

I have a near full set of Sectaurs and am only missing the Vehicles with their drivers for Visionaries. Both are cool 80s lines. I have a bunch of these guys for sale if anyone is inteested, check my website in my sig.

I have the Hyve playset. Its missing stuff, but the more I dig through my grandparents' basement, the more pieces Ill find to it. Its pretty stripped down at the moment, but in mint condition. Ill trade for Star Wars stuff. I don't expect much.

Thanks, I wish they would get a licesing deal with some company like (Filmation/BCI Eclipse or the now defunct Marvel-Sunbow/Rhino) to get the show released.

I wish they would too. It'd be nice to replace my 20 year old vhs transfers. Its by far the best Ruby-Spears show of the time. Most of their other stuff was kiddy shows like the chipmunks and saturday supercade, where this is on par with shows like Thundercats and GI Joe.

Yeah, They were also the ones that did CHUCK NORRIS! Karate Kommandos, Rambo: The Force of Freedom, and Mr. T.

I know Sectaurs didn't last very long but I have to agree out of all the shows Ruby-Spears did that is probably the best.

Although if it were up to me I would have Turbo Teen released first that way there would stop being 898679 show ID requests for it on here.

I have all 8 issues of the comics, always thought it would make a great animated series. Then I found out there WAS an animated series, specifically a 5-part mini-series (quite popular in the 80's - run it Monday to Friday to see if the kids go for it). Finally found it as a download (barely watchable quality, but hey - it's so bloody rare I was just happy to see it in ANY quality), a little known gem.

Speaking of which, if anyone HAS this on tape (meaning taped it YOURSELF) and would be willing to lend me their tape, I could make a VERY nice transfer of it over to DVD. Getting a copy is one thing, but being able to borrow the original is better - that way I can time-base correct it (from the earliest possible generation of quality) and clean up the transfer considerably. I know it's a long-shot, but I figured I'd put it out there.

I missed out on the toys, alas, but enjoyed the comics very much at the time. From what I've seen of the toys, they were MUCH more detailed than your typical action figures at the time. Very nice stuff, would love to track down a few just to have 'em!
