Aside from Sonic the Hedgehog, I grew up on Kirby in the mid 1990s. He was my favorite character Nintendo had to offer; I liked him better than Mario. However, the Kirby series was severely underrated back in the day. Mainly because he was pink. But I'm a girl, so it didn't matter.
My favorite had to be Kirby Super Star, with Kirby's Adventure as a close second. The latter being the first Kirby game I played, when I was 4 in 1993. My neighbor had it for her Nintendo and she taped me playing through the first level, Vegetable Valley. This was a month before Sonic CD came out and our focuses shifted to Sega again. Kirby Super Star came out during the Great Depression of Sonic games, so I had enough attention to pay to it. Meta Knight was a fuckin' badass.
