We need our help for Retro Junk because of encoding server problem! It seems that there is a problem with the video encoding whenever I try to upload videos here. I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with the recent net neutrality issue Please fix this soon.

This site has more than just server problems.

This place has been run down for years.

          I'm afraid not.

You can upload videos on Retrodaze, if you want. It's a lot easier.

Here's the videos section. There's pages and pages of commercials, TV show intros, and movie trailers.

              http://retro-daze.org/site/video/#All

At the top of the screen, you'll see a big button that says "Submit". You can upload videos from there, but you have to register to be a Retrodaze member first.

Will this site shut down for good because of a server error while uploading the commercial videos?

Think of Retrodaze as a fresh new beginning. Retrojunk's not going to be as good as it was in the past.

No matter how many problems this site has, I don't think it will shut down. Not now, anyway.

I think Retrojunk will eventually shut down, unfortunately. I don't see it surviving in its current form. When it will be, who the hell knows? My guess would be five years to over a decade. The way I see it, Vertex seems to have been losing a lot of interest in this site, and I think he's eventually going to stop keeping the site alive altogether.

The only way I do see the site recovering in any way is if Vertex hands over all control to a new webmaster. Someone who may be passionate in retro culture, and bring Retrojunk to a new level. A site that's more organized, and embraces new web technology. More specifically, one that adapts well to mobile technology. The internet has changed so much since even 2011, and Retrojunk, in its current form, uses outdated web technology. I think Retrojunk would attract new members if it's under the hands of someone (or a group of people) that is very experienced in web design, and if Vertex were smart, that's something I feel he should look into.

While Retrojunk may indeed be dying out, over at RetroRamblings.com, we are growing. I've been adding writers in the last few weeks, and am on the hunt for more. I've also just launched a message board as part of the site. While there is no activity in it yet to speak of, once it gets going, I see it being a fun place to chat.

Give the site a look, and if any of you would be interested in doing articles or whatever, give me a shout. [email protected]
