Netflix and other WWW companies pretty much permanently destroyed our childhoods to the point where it's not cool to go to a video store anymore. It also greatly diminished, if not totally wiped out, all demand for video stores.

So is it wrong to hate businesses like Netflix or other kinds of disruptive business?

Nope it's just the wave of the future. No different than when video stores first came out and people would rent movies instead of paying to go out to the movie theatre or wait for a movie to come on TV. Video stores had a good 25 yr run, and in 10 years..who knows, maybe Netflix will be replaced by something else better.

I don't think that it's wrong per se... however, I might call it misguided. Blockbuster nationally ruined video stores with their sanitized, mass-market approach and they actually cleared the way for Netflix even as they were decimated by it. Never take the short view, kids.

I for one love the convenience of getting the urge to watch a movie and being able to instantly do so at home. It's an invention I've been dreaming of since the 80s. I still remember getting our first VCR. My 5 year old self would kick my ass if he heard me complaining about streaming movies at home.
