Mike Nichols was one of the most talented men in entertainment. From his start in comedy at Second City in Chicago, Mike's credits include movies, television and Broadway theater productions.

Try these on, Catch-22, Silkwood, Charlie Wilson's War, The Graduate, Barefoot in the Park,The Odd Couple and Spamalot; and a whole bunch more!

Not bad for a German immigrant that spoke no English when he arrived in the States as a little boy.

This tribute to Mike Nichols is very special to me. As a comedy team, Mike Nichols and Elaine May staged a "fake award" skit for the live broadcast of the 11th Annual Emmy Awards back in 1959.

As a two year old at the time, this broadcast forms my earliest memory of watching television. It goes without saying that I had no idea what I was seeing on that old black & white TV, but those images were burned into my little brain.

Only with the airing of the PBS series, "American Masters: Nichols & May, Take Two",(the source of this YouTube clip) from 1996, was I able to see this unusual performance for the first time since 1959. And you could've picked me up off the floor!

REST IN PEACE MIKE NICHOLS, your friend lil' Eddie.
