I must admit the constant advertising, especially for super-short video clips, is starting to get to me. The idea of offering a "Premium Service" version of YouTube is not new, but the head of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, thinks people like me are more than ready for YouTube free of ads.

Soooo, are you willing to subscribe to YouTube? And if so, how much?

I don't get ads on YouTube anymore. Thanks to the power of Adblock Plus.

Adblock has been failing me lately. Maybe I should upgrade. And I'd never pay for that.

Believe me, I've tried every filtering service in the computer room. And all I get is a screenful of ads. Since June its really gotten bad. Maybe there's a reverse adblock, lol.

              I wouldn't pay for Youtube.

Now, if they partnered with Netflix--or could supplant Netflix by having equal/better quality and quantity of content--it could be a different story. I just don't want to have more than one subscription service that I have to pay for. There's already too much going on.

Yes, I want to avoid having to subscribe to everything/all the time. My bank account already has more links than my online profile.

No way would I pay for a YouTube subscription. There's so much crap on YouTube that isn't worth watching. I'm not paying any company to help them broadcast useless crap on the internet.

You might as well throw your tv/cable company into oblivion.

Those of you complaining of adblock not working are doing something wrong. I have adblock & never get youtube ads. Hell, for the longest time I wasn't even aware that youtube HAD ads. The only 3 rules I have which seem like they might be blocking the ads are; "nocookie.com", "tracking", and blocking all swf objects from "youtube.com" (this blocks stats things, which might or might not also trigger ads. Legit swf objects are served from the "ytimg.com" domain).

I hear people on YouTube complain about commercials all the time, when they could be simply using Adblock. They might be complaining just to get attention. They know what Adblock is, but they don't care enough to use it.

Yeah, I use AdBlock and Disconnet and I haven't had an ad on YouTube since I began using them.

I honestly do not mind the ads at all.
I wouldn't pay to get rid of them, either.

I did that years ago. Netflix, Hulu, and Xbox Video have filled that void.

Personally, I don't mind the occasional ad and would usually
be patient (unless there's a ridiculous amount of them spliced
through the whole video ala Two Best Friends Play on Machimina)

You have to use Firefox and get the Adblock Plus plug in. I can't watch youtube without it. It doesn't work on Hulu and doesn't work all the time, but it helps a lot. It blocks all the youtube video, video ads.

On funniermoments.com, which is a place where you can watch old cartoons, you had to turn off Adblock to watch them, but thankfully it doesn't work that way anymore. Not now, anyway.
