    		 Who here remembers using/owning/seeing a WebTV/MSNTV unit?

    Back in the times when you didn't have a computer and just wanted to go online?


    (I know there is a topic about internet in the 90s, but this thread mainly focuses on WebTV/MSNTV)

      		 I used to have a WebTV circa 1997 before I could buy my own computer. I remember going on newsgroups and chatrooms mostly.

          		 I had a webtv & still had it until I sold it to some sucker at a yard sale last summer (I'm 90% certain there's no longer any service available for it). I first learned HTML on it, I used imagemagick based online image editors to create animed GIFs, I played the hell out of browser based games like utopia and dominion, I got very frustrated with my unit's inability to do anything with java or shockwave due to lack of memory for installing the software, I listened to shittons of music in real audio format.
