      Lots of classics there!
When I die, I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandpa did. Not like the screaming passengers in his car.

Bet you all thought I gave up on this, didn't ya? Nope, just had some extremely busy things going on lately. Also, my hype for the Switch may have very well delayed this by an additional week.

Also, wow, I am going to have to add the Switch to this in a couple months. But by then, I will not have to separate releases anymore since the Wii U and 3DS will probably no longer have releases anymore. Can not believe I started doing this a couple years ago and now those two consoles will come to an end pretty soon here. Pretty sad to think about that.

Anyway, a lot to cover here, but mainly cause Nintendo only recently began releasing a new game on Wii U every single week so far since about a month ago.

For the week of July 21, 2016, one release for the Wii U.

For the week of July 28, 2016, we have two releases.

                (Release Date: September 19, 2011)

Hello, friends. Looks like the Switch comes out tomorrow, huh? Guess this will really be the end of an era, as this will be my final posting of the Wii U being Nintendo's current home console. After this weekend passes over, the Wii U will practically be forgotten. But, on the plus side, the Switch has no Virtual Console planned for a few more months, so I will gladly continue updating this list until then! For those that have stuck around since the beginning, I thank you. It has been great coming back here to update this thread whenever I can.

For the week of February 9, 2017, we have one release for Wii U.

                        Mario vs. Donkey Kong
                        (Release Date: May 24, 2004)

For the week of February 16, 2017, we have one release for Wii U.

Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber
                        (Release Date: October 7, 2000)

For the week of February 23, 2017, we have one release for Wii U. And a very, very unprecedented one at that, since the developers said once before it would be impossible to bring the game to the Virtual Console. Turns out, they simply said this as a ruse so that it would be a surprise to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of a beloved series of farming games. This is also the first time that this particular entry sees release in the PAL region! How exciting for those gamers.

                        Harvest Moon 64
                        (Release Date: December 22, 1999)

For the week of March 2, 2017, we have two releases for Wii U.

                        Neutopia

For the week of March 3, 2017, we have nothing.

For the week of March 9, 2017, we have seven releases, alongside the debut of the Switch Virtual Console. Also, the return of Neo Geo games once more! The last time we saw them was on the Wii, but these ones are the MVS arcade originals, rather than their AES home versions.

Also, friendly reminder, the release dates are still based around their NA debut. And since we now have arcade games, which do not have box art, title screens will be the preview. If no title screen image is available, posters will be the alternative.

                          For Switch:

                          Metal Slug 3
                          (Release Date: September 17, 2001)

                          World Heroes Perfect
                          (Release Date: July 26, 2012)

                          Shock Troopers
                          (Release Date: October 25, 2012)

                          Waku Waku 7
                          (Release Date: November 20, 1996)

The King of Fighters '98: The Slugfest
                          (Release Date: September 30, 1999)

                          NAM-1975
                          (Release Date: April 4, 2013)

                          For Wii U:

                          Bomberman 64
                          (Release Date: November 30, 1997)

Okay, so I screwed up. The Switch does not have Virtual Console. Those were just from a series of Neo Geo games called "Arcade Archives" and I assumed it was similar to the Wii scenario. So, we will no longer be covering the Switch until a first-party game launches on it or whichever one they officially call the Virtual Console.

For the week of March 16, 2017, we have one release for Wii U.

                            Picross 3D

For the weeks of March 23, 2017 to March 30, 2017, we have nothing.

                            (Release Date: October 10, 1992)

For the week of April 13, 2017, we have nothing.

Oh, you thought I was finally done with this? Too bad! Though, it's not that I've been "done" per se; rather, Nintendo kind of abandoned the Virtual Console with both the Wii U and 3DS as of recent. And the Switch has yet to receive one, so I have not been able to really give any updates there.

Also, starting this point onward, release dates won't be exact to TurboGrafx-16 games anymore. They are simply too hard to find. And that is pretty much all I will be bringing up here since Nintendo seems to have given the Wii U a plethora of them, so you can no longer say it lacks TurboGrafx-16 games; well, besides Rondo of Blood, the one everyone wants. TurboGrafx-16 on Wii U also contains the most import Virtual Console titles out of any other digital Nintendo shop.

I will shorten the introduction sentences as well since I got to save characters here.

                              May 4, 2017, one Wii U release.

                              Bonk's Revenge
                              (1991)

                              May 18, 2017, one Wii U release.

                              Blazing Lazers
                              (November 1989)

                              June 8, 2017, two Wii U releases.

I am sure many of you noticed, but the Wii U and 3DS have unofficially discontinued their Virtual Console service. With there being no regular release of games for either of them in months, I no longer have any reason to update this anymore, unless they surprise us.

I must say, despite getting a bit forgetful near the end, I really enjoyed coming here to inform you of the weekly retro games. Did it for nearly half a decade and it was a good run. I started it around the time I bought my first current Nintendo console and I saw it all the way through to the end.

With the Switch, I can only assume NSO is its Virtual Console, so if Nintendo updates it monthly, you can expect me to return to inform you of the releases. I am sure you have other ways of doing so, but this is a fun thing to do for those that just want to leave it linked and check back.

Needless to say, The Mysterious Murasame Castle did not end up on the Wii U, which was a real shame. Rondo of Blood, at least that I am aware of, may never end up on the Wii U either. The Turbografx-16 games were the biggest surprise out of anything I ever brought up on here due to their late entry.

We have nothing more for the Wii U and 3DS.

I decided to login one last time, just to say thank you for your contribution.

I remember when this thread started waaay back. Even similar ones from over a decade ago.. You have done a fantastic job with this one!

Sadly this place has became "retro" in itself. I sometimes still come here to check out some random stuff, but yeah.. game over man, game over.
