I said my hellos, so let's get to business!

Anyone watch these new retro antenna channels such as Antenna TV or MeTV? If you are one of those viewers, some of you might know that the Live Well Network, a service of ABC (Disney), will go off the air on January 2015. Could this open up an opportunity for Disney-ABC to start a retro network of its own?

Comcast/NBCUniversal has COZI TV with shows like Knight Rider, Miami Vice, and Six Million Dollar Man, all of which are Universal shows. Fox has MOVIES! which plays a lot of old 20th Century Fox films such as Shirley Temple and Marilyn Monroe films, in addition to other studios. And MeTV has a lot of classic shows from the CBS library; while CBS doesn't own MeTV, our major-market CBS cluster airs the channel.

That means ABC is the missing link! Do you want to see a retro diginet with Classic Disney and ABC Movies of the Week? You should write letters to Disney-ABC and your local Live Well affiliate and let them know you want to see a retro Disney network!

Also, place your favorite classic Disney (last century) or ABC TV movie in this space (and letter)!

I like the 1989-1994 Disney animated films, DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale, TaleSpin, Goof Troop, and Bill Nye! And growing up on the 80s and 90s, I remember the ABC TV movies very well!

Good luck on your efforts! I want my MickeyTV!

    Respectfully yours,

Most of these shows are readily accessible online. I think most people love the idea of a channel playing all the old stuff, but I doubt a lot would sit down and watch it.

I agree with Vkimo. These are good channels to put on when there is nothing else on and to keep old people entertained. If people really want to watch every episode they will get the DVD.

Too many of these shows are being horded by the big corporations and they make their money off them with DVD/blue-ray sales. These retro channels are not even scratching the surface of all of the shows out there. While channels like Antenna TV have some good shows, their variety for being on 24/7 is really pretty limited. You have to have pay TV with a big package and an off air antenna in some cases to get access to all the ones we like. Encore is showing some now and that usually requires a higher package or paying extra. Even then there are a lot of shows that just are not being played on TV and have not for some time.

I just put RTV on at 3:30 am and they are showing an infomercial. Late at night is when I usually watch live TV. Antenna TV has I Dream on Jennie on at least and not an infomercial.

Didn't they already have a retro network before it became Disney XD? :P

I think what Disney might do is set up there own streaming service. They seem to be testing the waters on Netflix, but I have my doubts they would program an entire new channel.

That's what I've been thinking since after ABC kids went off the air on August 27.2011. Bet we'll see old Disney Channel Sitcoms. Preferrably on OTA subchannels.

I would want it to be something like this.

7:00 am to 11:00am - Stuff like PB&J Otter, Rolly Polly Ollie, Out of the Box, etc.
11:00 am to 5:30 pm - DuckTales, TaleSpin, Goof Troop, Chip and Dale, Bill Nye, Schoolhouse Rock, etc.
5:30pm to 8:00 pm - Disney films from the late eighties and early nineties
8:00 pm to 7:00 am - Sitcoms like Boy Meets World, Sister Sister, sitcoms that Disney Channel picked up.
So you're gonna get in my face...BETTER BE READY TO BACK IT UP!

I'm a bitch who likes sirloin.

                      Come at me, bro.
