Being funny isn't for everyone. Nor is it necessary for good writing. But if you really want to take that path, watch and read a lot of comedy and analyze it. What makes it funny? Some things that elicit laughter are pain, the unexpected, lies or exaggeration, and wordplay. How can you use these things (in an original style, as vkimo says)?
Yeah, I'm still trying to find my own style of writing. I first started really seriously thinking about writing articles and reviews by watching nostalgia reviews by The Spoony One.
This will take you to his website.
He re-introduced me to a lot of games and movies from my childhood. It helped stir my imagination to want to write again and I haven't felt like that in years.
