It was an animated movie. I saw on tv like 10 years ago. It was anime style and it was subtitled. I can't remember if it was in Japanese or another language. It was about this dead whale spirit that was trying to crossover to the spirit world. There is also a dead snake the boy meets. The boy is trying to help the whale crossover. I'm pretty sure the movie takes place in the summer and there might have been a summer festival.
I have been searching on google and other sites for a while with no results.
