Married with Children and The Simpsons should not be here on a 'Top 5 shows of the 90's'. Both started in the 80's. Also Saved By The Bell/Family Matters started in late '89.

So? A lot of episodes from those series were made in the 90s.
There is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil and the other one is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed the most.

The OP's thread is about shows from the 90's. It follows that it should be from 1990 onwards. Sure some of the shows mentioned are known for their success in the 90's but started in the 80's so they are part of that decade. I can give you Save by The Bell/Family Matters to be from the 90's since they started a couple of months before 1990.

The Simpsons premiered on December 17th 1989 and the pilot episode was the only episode to air in the 80s, so in essence The Simpsons is a 90s show. The shorts on the Tracey Ullman Show don't count cause they're shorts not full length episodes.

Married with Children and The Simpsons lasted well into the 1990s. Saved By the Bell blew up in late 1991/early 1992, same goes for Family Matters. My cousin did not began recording episodes of Family Matters and The Simpsons until around 1991. The latter part of the 1980s introduced us to what came to be early 1990s pop culture, even VH1 placed Family Matters in its "I Love 1991" episode. I will agree with you on one thing, the best episodes of Married with Children were from the late 1980s. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episodes of seasons 4,5 and 7 (the 1990, 1991 and 1993 chapters) were more like those of seasons 2 and 3 (1988 and '89 chapters). Besides watching reruns of TMNT from the late 80s, they were still the first "kiddie trend" of the early 90s.
