Does it have the potential to be the next blockbuster?

There is a battle between two wolves inside us all.

One is evil and the other one is good. Which wolf will win? The one you feed the most.

I don't think so, it doesn't seem to have as much of a buzz as some of these other movies like The Hunger Games, Hobbit, etc...

This movie's not even in theatres yet, and already, there's going to be a sequel.

No one knows if Divergent's going to be a hit.

My fiancée begged me to read the books, so I gave in and read the first one. It's definitely Hunger Games-ish. I wasn't a huge fan of the book, but I can't really talk too much trash about it since it's a YA book. About all I can say is that I read it, there's some undertones in it I'm not fond of, and I have no desire to read the other two books.

As far as the movie is concerned, I'll probably have to see it tomorrow. We had a deal in place where she'd go with me to see Sabotage if I'd go with her to see Divergent. I'm dreading it. I think it has 25-30% on Rotten Tomatoes and I haven't read much good about it. It being nearly three hours also makes me want to weep. Someone on Twitter said it best: It looks like something NBC cancelled back in 2010.

I hope Muppets: Most Wanted wins the weekend, but I'm sure this garbage heap will take #1 at the box office. From what I can tell, it has a decent following.

I don't know why with each time a popular YA book comes out, studios
have to capitalize on it by making movies of similar, inferior books.Does
              that strategy really make money?

                Unsurprisingly, this movie sucked.

You would think that Muppets Most Wanted would be #1 in the Box Office, but it's not. It's Divergent.

I watched both and Muppets Most Wanted was definitely the better movie. Divergent is a long, boring movie. It also doesn't help that the plot is abysmal.

I'll choose the Muppets over Divergent any day.

Sadly, I don't think we'll get another Muppets theatrical release for quite a while.

                          That stinks.

By the end of this week, something else will be #1 in the Box Office.

My daughter read the series and is extremely excited to see the movie today. I hope for her sake its good. I don't think the target audience is the adults here, it's the teens that love the book. I'm not surprised if adults don't like it. Whereas good old school redneck jokes appeal to almost everyone (even rednecks), I think teen flicks really only appeal to teens. Anyway, my daughter talked me into reading the series which I just finished, and it wasn't that bad... very similar to Hunger Games. I wait for her opinion before I judge the movie, and then I'm not sure if I'll see it.

This YA crap needs to go away. They're all essentially the same crap over and over.

Those who liked it obviously forgot what entertainment is.

Sadly, I don't see the YA trend slowing down anytime soon. For every flop like Vampire Academy or The Host, there's going to be something like Divergent that comes along and makes tons of money.

If they made Divergent into a movie (a book where the plot of as thin as the movie's), I shudder to think what's coming next.
