He probably has some money stored in some Swiss bank because after all he did live in Switzerland recently. At this point he's much safer inside a prison than in the outside world because he won't be around hardened violent criminals so he'll pretty much be safe in prison just as Bernie Madoff was where the prison guards treated him with the upmost respect. When the outside world wants to harm you then prison is a safe place for these corporate types where they are protected and cared for.

bassman21 7 months 26 days ago Posts: 4553	I never liked him either and knew he was a fraud back in 2005 when I saw his infomercial on "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know". The book actually had very few cures and kept directing people to his website to pay a monthly subscription. In 2006 he was forced to issue a revised version that actually contained some remedies. Then the debt, "free money" and weight loss books followed. He's like that 'know it all' guy at work that just talks out of his ass, but he's a great salesmen. As much as I despise him I don't think he should get jail for writing books. If people were stupid enough to buy and believe what someone with no credentials were telling them then that is their own fault. If we're going to go after Tredeau then we need to go after all of these other self elected experts that write books.

I don't agree with the point that people's "stupidity" can't be helped and it's their own fault and nothing should be done. We need government agencies to screen any claims about health. Just how a drug company can't release some medicine with bogus claims, neither should a book!

Its all well and good he got caught and put in his place, but I do have to agree with the mentality of "if you're stupid enough to buy into that load of tripe, you deserve to be taken advantage of."

All they have to do is put "This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA". There is a good amount of the general population that are thoroughly convinced that the drug companies are evil and that the natural cures are the answer. Most natural cures are junk science. The ones that work are encouraged by doctors. If these people don't get their junk science from Tredeau they will get it from someone else. Tredeau was just targeted because of his history and because of his arrogance. Here is the 20/20 segment on him from 2007.
