The studio has picked up a pitch from Robert Rugan, an award-winning commercials director, who is writing an updated take on the characters in what is being envisioned as a live-action/CG hybrid. Mandeville Films/TV, the Disney-based production shingle run by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman that is also behind the studio’s Muppets franchise, is producing.

If you've seen one of these movies you've seen `em all. I'm sure they'll have some big longwinded musical number, commercials where Chip puts on shades and dances to some relatively recent pop song to show they're hip and down with the kids these days, and of course the plot will probably be they have to help some dorky loser get his shit together so he can save the day and get the girl.

Don't forget going into the "Real World" and interact with whatever comedian is hot right now.
