The meteorologists in this area are seemingly incapable of predicting snow. If they say it's going to snow, that's a sure sign you won't see a single snowflake. But yeah, I'm enjoying in the winter. Living in the south, we usually get a lot of warm Winters. Plus, I loathe Spring and Summer, so I'm fine with the cold.

I live about an hour from Atlanta, so I can kinda/sorta explain. The snow and ice wasn't predicted to hit anywhere but the southern portions of Alabama and Georgia (so the local meteorologists said). Obviously they were very wrong and it hit most of both states. Both states are ill prepared to deal with Winter weather when it is expected, much less when it isn't. The storm hit Birmingham first and was clearly moving toward Atlanta. It had already left a mess in Birmingham, so the mayor of Atlanta and Governor should've been ready with preparations. They weren't. They didn't do anything. Last I've heard/seen, they still haven't done much.

We usually get (maybe) 2 inches of snow every couple of years or so. The last big snow I remember before this one was January 2010. And, if I'm not mistaken, that one was much more significant than this one. I think we got around 8 inches then.

AtlantaCommercials 10 months 5 days ago Posts: 1244	This past few weeks in Fredericksburg have been crappy. I think the average temperature for last Wednesday was only 10 degrees Fahrenheit and I had to go to classes that day!

bassman21 10 months 4 days ago Posts: 4553	Everyone freaked out here in Houston over a little ice. They closed the schools and government offices that Friday and the following Tuesday. Several of the bridges and overpasses froze on Friday, but not much happened on Tuesday. Snow fell and stuck to the north, but the city saw a wintery mix. The low was on the mid 20s and the high was in the low 30s. It's been a cold winter here, but not cold enough to bust any pipes.
