BTW this is the son of the owner of both Brain Damage and Memory Lane Comics. I have some pics of the store inside and out. I will try to scan some in.
Holy Crap! lol, I'm pretty sure I remember you. Didn't you guys live in the big building right across the street from the store? Jasmine from the 9th floor used to babysit me, you probably remember her kids Pedro and Efrain. I used to live down the block at 50 Ocean Parkway, in that big red brick building with the white pillars and green door. I also went to P.S. 130.
I thought I read somewhere that the owner past away, if that's true I'm sorry for your loss. I remember your father was a really cool dude. I always used to scrounge up whatever change I could find so that I could buy comic books and cards, I was in there all the time. He hooked me up with a bunch of free cards and a wolverine t-shirt when I moved away, around 1992 1993 time frame. I came back a few years later and the store was closed, I was pretty disappointed, I was really looking forward to it. The outside of Brain Damage still looks exactly the same minus the comics in the window. Did your dad also own a video store on Prospect Park South West and Vanderbilt?
I'll tell you what, some of my happiest memories from those days was browsing through all the cool stuff at Brain Damage. Did you guys ever sell that huge remote control Batmobile that was in the glass showcase? Man I wish that place could have stayed open. I'm looking forward to seeing those picks.
