This is that time of year when I think about one of my favorite Made-For-TV movies, Darren McGavin's best role - "The Night Stalker" from 1972.

While this film was not intended as a Halloween offering, it still holds up today as a "thriller" that seems custom made for October.

This clip contains the hospital scene where we get a good look at that vampire that could play tackle for the NFL. And check out the news conference scene as well, Darren McGavin at his best!

I was looking at the guy for 5 minutes trying to figure out why he's so familiar looking. Then it hit me, The Old Man Parker from A Christmas Story!

I'm old enough to remember Darren McGavin's TV series called "Riverboat", co-starring a very young Burt Reynolds.

But with "The Night Stalker", movie and series, Mr. McGavin found the role of a lifetime!
