I'm not surprised. All these yuppies have been moving to NYC, especially Brooklyn, over paying for property and driving out the original people and culture. When I was young we used to play games in front of our building, we had great times and everyone knew each other. Now you might get a fine for being in front of the building for too long. They even wanted to ban the ice cream truck! They overpay for condos in packed buildings and then complain about the noise. If one day I'm lucky and win a big enough jackpot with millions to burn I will buy some of those properties and turn them back into section 8 at a loss just to stick it too those gentrifying bastards for ruining my childhood neighborhood.
Yea that group tends to be very self centered and self righteous. We have that type here in Houston too, but not as many. I lived around them about 10 years ago when I lived up town and choose to live around poor people any day over them. Sorry I just can't stand people that are fake and people that think they world revolves around them. If it wasn't for their money, the system and the law protecting them they wouldn't last very long. We saw how whiny and helpless they were after Sandy hit up there. They didn't seem to care about us after Ike.
It looks like they're cutting a lot of the general coloring out and doing more academically focused coloring. My kids get homework like that where they have to color based on rules, like all odd numbers red etc.. I think general coloring is still good to have, hope they don't cut it out completely.
It seems the schools in America have not only gotten worse but ridiculous. Hell, when I started school, we were allowed to take naps till 2nd grade, along with the other joyous activities that were there. That is, all the way until 4th grade where my teacher was really abusive. Day in and day out I have put up with crap from my teachers(except for a few good teachers) and rarely got a break from it. Even when I asked to go to the restroom, the teachers would not let you go and if you left during class, they would mark you absent on purpose just for the hell of it. I would also get lousy math teachers who spoke so fast that they wouldn't even work with you to point so you can understand. Not just that but they would do nothing if you got bullied by a group of kids. They would just sit there and watch. Yeah, of course my only escape from this was the public library in my area which was good because they had a lot of things to do. So yes I know from personal experience what it's like during the years you go to school. Question is, what if they get worse than they are now? I'm sorry but it's starting to sound like something you would hear from an dystopian novel. I would not want my kids to go through something like this. It's already bad enough that most people think that kids should be perfect and make no mistakes and know everything in the whole wide world. If this is all they're going to do, why even have school? Having these strict rules is what's destroying this country already. So......
