Marvel, Pixar, Ghibli and Muppets have all made great stuff. I don't know how much influence Disney has on their output other than financing and distribution? I didn't see Tron or the Pirates movies but I am interested in the latter. Disney was...extraordinarily successful in the 90s, I'll say that. They surely had a balance sheet renaissance then. To me, I enjoyed Little Mermaid, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast less than earlier films such as Aristocats, Robin Hood, 101 Dalmations, etc. In the 90s, they became a factory churning out many movies of many different kinds and using acquired other properties and studios like those you mentioned. When Walt was alive, Disney worked on only one animated movie at a time, and they didn't even release one every year. I don't think they have that focus now, and there's a reason The Jungle Book or Cinderella (for example) are classics, and A Goofy Movie or Mulan just never will be in quite the same way.
