I'm not sure if anyone else remembers this show that came on just before the Saturday morning cartoons would air in the very early 1980s. It may have actually been the very late 1970s, but I don't remember. I believe it would come on around 6am or 7am because I would wake up and be ready to watch the cartoons before 8am and this would be on. Not sure of the channel, but thinking maybe ABC as I would watch the Super Friends at 8. I do know it was one of the major three.

The show was a live documentary type show filmed in different parts of the world and about those parts/people in that region. Almost like a National Geographic type show. The only thing I can specifically remember about it was in the intro. Part of the intro (it featured clips of all over) showed two people standing up in a canoe-like boat throwing a huge net out into the water (to catch fish). The body of water seemed to have plant life on the surface and seemed to be a good size, but not oceanic.

Does anyone have any recollection of this show?

    Thanks for any help!
