Essentially, Family Guy has been reduced to sophomoric humor that makes light of issues like AIDS and pedophilia. I'm far from prudish, but when your entire joke bank consists of things like this, it becomes extremely unfunny very quickly. Coupled with repetitive gags and unlikeable characters (the entire show consists of comic relief characters that no one really cares about), it's just an obnoxious show with no sense of comedy or direction.

Subject matter alone is enough to make me not watch it, but the repetitive jokes are incredibly lame. You get one character repeating or doing something on-screen for like a minute straight, over and over. That's not funny, that teletubbies for people who should know better.

It's going to be a long 12th season.

        My own theory:
        1. It has very adult-oriented humor
        2. To add to that, it's a *gasp* cartoon

It's not funny and the only likable characters are Quagmire and Joe. I used to be a big fan, but got tired of it after the first few seasons. As others have pointed out, it's very formulaic. That wasn't really a problem in the first few seasons b/c the jokes were generally fresh. But then even the jokes got very formulaic. Being a Christian and a Republican, I just got tired of having my beliefs mocked every two minutes. Shocking, I know. And yes, I do have a sense of humor. But the jokes need to be original. And 99% of the jokes on Family Guy are not original. Maybe things are better these days, I don't know. But I don't care to find out.

It feels like a chore to watch these episodes anymore. How about they stop recycling jokes and make these characters likeable? The only episodes I enjoy are the ones that center around Stewie and Brian.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It feels like a chore to watch today's Simpsons episodes too.

I personally hated the Star Wars special and have not found it funny since maybe season 2. Not even remotely. It deservedly got cancelled. Ever since they brought it back, they have made a point to be as badly behaved as they want to be. Bad isn't always awesome.

Totally agree. I feel about it the same way I do most live action comedy films now. You an watch it once and say "OMG, Can't believe they did that!" after that, no rewatching value in it for me.
