I agree that fast food everyday calorie wise isn't going to cause you to be overweight. However if you are McDonald's for breakfast, Burger King for lunch and ate a bag of chips with a six pack of soda for dinner, your gonna be overweight unless your a lucky bastard lol. Health wise, I can't say, but weight wise if your burning more than your consuming you SHOULD be fine.

We did McDonalds and Dominos once a week growing up.( on separate days.) I was overweight, but it wasnt because of those two days. It was the ding dongs, little Debbie's, salt n vinegar chips, Pepsi etc on other days with lack of excercise.
                      :)

When I was a kid, my mom would take us to Burger King or McDonald's a few times a year. Early in high school I decided I didn't like either of them so I haven't been there in a long time. I hear good things about Burger King, so I might try them sometime if I'm on the road and desperate. But no ketchup, mustard, onions, or pickles dammit!

I still don't go for fast food very often. But when I do, I like:
                              Wendy's
                              Jack in the Box
                              Carl's Jr
                              Kentucky Fried Chicken
                              Tastee-Freez
                              Culver's
and of course, the ever-lovin' Steak 'n' Shake.

Popeye's is OK but not as good as KFC, at least chickenwise.
Taco Bell is also OK but I really only go there in a pinch. Then I pinch a loaf afterwards
I went to Checkers once. I was very not impressed.
In my youth, I liked Roy Rogers. I haven't even seen one in a long time. Last time I went I was driving 500 miles. I didn't like it. The burger was dry and crappy. I don't know if this is Roy Rogers in general or just a rest stop calamity.
                              I think Arby's is gross.
One time I went to Wendy's and the guy in front of me told the cashier, "I munna have, a cheeseburger. And THEN I munna have, a medium fries. And THEN I munna have, a frosty. And THEN I munna have, a chicken sandwich. And THEN I munna have..." I don't remember the exact items he was picking, but he went on for a long time that way and it was pretty bizarre.

I also like non-chain stands that serve burgers, polish/hot dogs, or (only in Philly) cheesesteaks.

I used to go to Burger King a lot when I was a kid when .99 whopper sales happened all the time; I even worked at a Burger King for almost three years. Now, I hate Burger King with a passion. I think it's the worst burger place out there by far. I just hate the whopper with its nasty shredded lettuce that almost instantly gets soggy and mixes very badly with the ketchup and mayo which forms this nasty slime. The whopper patty also never stays warm for long because it's so thin.

Quality control is also pretty horrible at BKs, in my opinion. They are almost always understaffed, and the food quality is the most inconsistent. Their eggs are all yellow and come from a box. A whopper is supposed to have two slices of tomatoes, four pickle slices, three slices of onion, and so on. Those ingredients are always screwed up at BK. Always.

Not to mention, I think the whopper is just a horribly designed hamburger. Every ingredient that comes on the whopper blends together into slop. I've heard people say that they think there is some kind of special sauce on the whopper, but there isn't. It's just a badly mixed mess of ketchup, mayo, shredded lettuce, pickles and onion. If they controlled the mix a little better--use big slices of lettuce instead for example--this burger would be a lot better. Also, the broiler is outdated. Nobody cares about the stupid broiler. Find a better way to cook hamburgers and make the patties thicker (like the new angus beef burgers).

BK fries? They've always been the worst of any burger place. They've only slightly improved in the last 20 years. They still suck.

Their onion rings taste like rubber.

Good to know, I won't go after all.
The "sauce" doesn't bother me because like I said I don't like ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions (except when they are raw and fresh and crunchy) or mayonnaise (on hot sandwiches).

I've seen internet people say BK is good because of the broil thing. I don't remember why but they were very emphatic. I've heard that the ideal is BK burger with McD fries.

Fast food places don't like whole lettuce because it's too hard to hide the brown parts.

When I was a kid my favorite was and still is Burger King. I always thought it was so cool because they were the first fast food place I remember that had a fountain letting you get all the free refills you want and of course they had The Whopper. I also thought it was cool because some of the ones in Pittsburgh were decorated with all kinds of 1950s stuff. One was right beside a creek. Screw the play place I wanted to go fishing and play in the creek.

McDonald's was ok depending on what they had in their happy meals. My favorite prizes were the legos and hotwheels cars. I also thought the playland at McDonalds in Harmarville, PA was cool because it was right across the street from the train tracks and you could watch trains go by. It also had the hambuger cop climbing thing which at the time seemed like you were a million feet off the ground and of course the older kids always wrote funny graffiti in it. I also liked how it had this one train thing where you could eat at the little tables on it. When I was about 9 though I grew out of the happy meals phase and wanted the real food. I always wished they made the McRib a permanent menu item.

I also liked the old Long John Silvers restaurants because of the pirate decor and at one time they had a kids meal box that looked like a small Long John Silvers restaurant which being a kid I used with my toy cars. I pretended they were all going to Long Johns. At the time I also actually though hushpuppies were fish.

I loved this one Hardee's in Millvale PA that had this neat thing that carried trays from the kitchen, over the dining room, and to the drive thru window. It was always so much fun to watch.

I also loved Rally's, next to Arby's their fries are the best. Such a sin we don't have any more around here. :(

I really don't eat fast food that much anymore. Too many fast food places (especially McDonald's) just seem bland and boring to me these days. You eat at one location you've eaten at them all. Nothing really stands out and makes me say "Whoa that place looks so cool, I gotta go there." Just no imagination. They all look like they were designed by a focus group of librarians and accountants.
